New York Landmarks - Made From Twigs, Bark and Leaves
An annual exhibition showcases replica New York landmarks all made from natural materials such as bark, twigs, stems, fruit, nuts and leaves.

The Christmas Holiday Train Show exhibits more than 140 scaled iconic buildings including the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, Radio City Music Hall and the original Yankee Stadium.

Now in its 20th year the show also features more than a dozen large-scale model railway trains - from late 1800s American Steam engines and streetcars to modern freight and high-speed passenger trains.

The trains past through the famous landmarks from a fungus-formed Guggenheim Museum to a towering Brooklyn Bridge.

The exhibition is at the New York Botanical Garden running until mid January.

Visitors also get an insider's look at how the replicas are constructed.

Models in different stages of completion will show how a structure destined for the Holiday Train Show is framed and starts taking shape through the addition of plant parts.

Show designer Paul Busse and his son, Brian and their team at Applied Imagination in Kentucky will also tell the story of how they create the Holiday Train Show.

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip visit the New Zealand Giant Rugby Ball, London, Britain - 25 November 2008
The Queen, wearing a feather shaped brooch akin to the New Zealand All Blacks rugby team logo, has met the All Blacks rugby team while visiting a giant inflatable rugby ball being used to promote New Zealand tourism. She and the Duke of Edinburgh were treated to a traditional Maori welcome as they arrived at the 25-metre ball, which has been installed in Potters Field near London Bridge. The ball is designed to give visitors a taste of what they can expect when they travel to New Zealand and aims to showcase the country's creative talent, landscape and technology. It also promotes the 2011 Rugby World Cup, which will be held in New Zealand. During their visit the royal couple were taken on a "virtual visit" of New Zealand by viewing a 10-minute audio-visual show that is projected onto the walls inside the ball.
