Armed Forces personnel working to keep British people safe at Christmas
Each year in Tapa Camp, Estonian troops hold a Christmas Tree building competition for each accommodation block. This year UK and Danish Troops took part with this Christmas tree effort consisting of an old soviet military vehicle.
The 5 Rifles Battlegroup is currently deployed on Operation CABRIT in Estonia as part of the NATO enhanced Forward Presence. The Battlegroup forms part of the Estonian Defence Forces' First Infantry Brigade and contains a company from the Danish Army.
Thousands of Armed Forces personnel will be working across the globe this Christmas to help keep Britain safe, so people at home can enjoy the festive season.
The Armed Forces are on duty 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, and Christmas is no exception. This year, around 6,400 sailors, marines, soldiers, airmen and airwomen will be deployed on operations.
From Somalia and Ukraine to efforts to protect British people against coronavirus and threats here in the United Kingdom, the Armed Forces will be deployed across all corners of the globe taking part in 39 operations across 46 different countries.

Thousands of Armed Forces personnel will be working across the globe this Christmas to help keep Britain safe, so people at home can enjoy the festive season.
The Armed Forces are on duty 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, and Christmas is no exception. This year, around 6,400 sailors, marines, soldiers, airmen and airwomen will be deployed on operations.

Across three days of high tempo activity on both the ground and in the air, the 2 PARA Battlegroup has launched on the final mission of Exercise Wessex Storm.
Fighting against a free-thinking enemy force on Salisbury Plain, the mission lets the paratroopers show their skills and readiness for short notice operations around the world.
The 2 PARA Battlegroup is built around the paratroopers of Colchester-based 2nd Battalion The Parachute Regiment, supported by signallers, engineers, artillery, medics and logistics specialists from 16 Air Assault Brigade. It is training to be ready to deploy at short notice on operations around the world.

Image of a soldier from Legion Troop, C Sqn Light Dragoons taking part in a battlegroup squad competition in Poland, whilst deployed on Op CABRIT.
The Squad Comp took place in memory of fallen soldiers from each of the competing nations. Legion Troop won the overall competition, beating 15 other teams.
Soldiers from C Squadron, Light Dragoons, are in Poland on OPERATION CABRIT, as part of NATO's Enhanced Forward Presence.
Around 140 soldiers from the Light Dragoons and attachments from other parts of the armed forces make up 'Legion Troop' - the reconnaissance asset of Battlegroup Poland. They are working alongside soldiers from the U.S, Romania, Croatia and Poland.

A crew from C Flt, 18 Sqn, RAF Odiham, operating on Op NEWCOMBE as part of 1310 Flt. Working in conjunction with RAF and British Army personnel from Joint Helicopter Support Squadron, RAF Benson. Tasking in support of the French, Groupement Tactique Desert de l'Air (GTD-A).
It is currently rainy season in the Sahel, making ground movement difficult. The unique heavy lift capability of the Chinook allowed a replacement vehicle to be delivered over a long distance where ground movement is difficult.
Personnel from RAF Odiham have been deployed in non-combat roles in Mali since 2018 with the aircraft contributing a unique logistical capability to the French-led operation.
The Chinooks and aircrew allow French troops to cover a much larger field of operations by moving personnel to the front-line of activity, eliminating the need for dangerous road moves, and help move vital support equipment to strategic locations.

CH47 asset rotation. Oshkosh redeployment following a reduction from full night stop to a day tasking. Excellent effort from all parties, TSW, 1AMW, 99Sqn ALM, Op NEWCOMBE DLG, Op NEWCOMBE CH47 Engineers. TSW were able to, at very short notice provide, the C17 with an uplift of fuel from the online Oshkosh, whilst simultaneously on-loading the returning Oshkosh. Fantastic flexibility enabled the return of a high profile asset, against a challenging timeframe. This task highlights the “can do” attitude found within the Logistics Branch and Trades.

RAF Brize Norton is home to the RAF's Strategic and Tactical Air Transport (AT) and Air-to-Air Refuelling (AAR) forces, as well as host to many lodger and reserve units.
The Airbus A400M Atlas is a European, four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft. It was designed by Airbus Military (now Airbus Defence and Space) as a tactical airlifter with strategic capabilities to replace older transport aircraft, such as the Transall C-160 and the Lockheed C-130 Hercules.

2020 ROYAL AIR FORCE PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION RESULTS
RAF 2020 photo competition. Image shows an Airbus Voyager (AirTanker) flying in support of an Op TANSOR call, or Quick Reaction Alert.
Voyager is the RAF’s sole air-to-air refuelling (AAR) tanker and also operates as a strategic air transport. The aircraft is in service as the Voyager KC.Mk 2, equipped with two underwing pods for refuelling fast jets, and as the Voyager KC.Mk 3, with an additional centreline hose for use by large aircraft.
RAF Brize Norton is home to the RAF's Strategic and Tactical Air Transport (AT) and Air-to-Air Refuelling (AAR) forces, as well as host to many lodger and reserve units.
This image was one of 900 images submitted to this year’s RAF Photographic Competition and although not placed by the judges, it highlights the exceptionally high standard of work carried by RAF Photographers over the past year.
