STUDIO - Bush Theatre in London
27th March 2017. Spotlight Shepherd's Bush. Shepherd's Bush is an area of west London in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. Although it is primarily residential in character, its focus is the shopping area of Shepherd's Bush Green, with the Westfield shopping centre lying a short distance to the north. The Loftus Road football stadium in Shepherd's Bush is home to Queens Park Rangers. Commercial activity in Shepherd's Bush is now focused on the Westfield shopping centre next to Shepherd's Bush Central line station and on the many small shops which run along the northern side of the Green. Madani Younis, Artistic Director of Bush Theatre, Uxbridge Road. Bush Theatre has been a fixture of Shepherd's Bush since 1972 & has been in it's current location (the former library building) since 2011 & completed it's second & final phase of redevelopment just 8 days ago. The Theatre contains two performance spaces (the main space has a 200-seat capacity with seating for up to 60 in the smaller Studio space), as well as a terrace, library bar & reading room. The theatre entertains 60,000 people per-year & it's current show is an award-winning American play called "Guards At The Taj" focusing on the story of two guards working as the grand Taj Mahal is being constructed.
