March 10, 2012, near Mawlamyine, Myanmar. Aung San Suu Kyi leads caravan on trip to Mawlamyine to campaign for her party the National League for Democracy in elections to be held on April 1, 2012. The route from Yangon some 280 K away was lined by supporters most of whom have never seen the Nobel Prize winner in person. Large crowds mobbed her car in every town she passed giving her flowers and trying to touch her hand.

Eylon Levy leads a Hostage vigil outside Parliament, Westminster, London, Great Britain
4th September 2025
Voice for the Hostages: Eylon Levy Leads Vigil Outside Parliament
British-born Israeli advocate Eylon Levy, who has become a key voice for the hostages held by Hamas, joined volunteers outside the Houses of Parliament in Westminster today to highlight the plight of 48 people still held in Gaza’s tunnels, many feared dead. Standing in silence with placards bearing the hostages’ faces, the vigil sought to capture the attention of MPs and government officials as they arrived at work.
Highlighting the urgency of the situation, Eylon Levy said: ‘The terrorist army holding dozens of hostages is bankrolled by the owners of Harrods. Qatar is Hamas’ main state sponsor. It can’t be both a British ally and a state sponsor of terror. Britain must sanction Qatar to pressure it to force Hamas to free the hostages. This Islamist dictatorship thinks it’s bought Britain’s silence. It’s time for the Starmer Government to tell Doha: you may own half of London, but you do not own Britain!’
The vigil was organised by the Stop The Hate and Our Fight movements.
