Directors of the Capitol Land and Development Company are being killed. They have the tender for the Cupid project, an underground government headquarters in the event of a nuclear war. Clues such as a red nose and a giant footprint lead the Avengers to a home for retired clowns, irate that the project will flatten a sainted variety theatre and with an agenda of their own.

One of the highest points I've ever captured and at this point in the night there was great transparency in the atmosphere. In the centre of this photo is our Milky Way, various Nebula, such as Antares Nebula, the Lagoon, Trifid, dark Nebula. All this splendour is over the snowy peaks of the North Caucasus - Koshtan Tau (over 5000m) and Thought-Tau (over 4000m)
The beauty of the night sky, Russia
The beautiful colouring of the night sky from a high altitude is almost beyond belief.
Boris Dmitriev is a traveller, explorer, and photographer with a passion for astronomy. These photos are testament to his dedication for capturing and sharing the stunning views of stars from Russian mountains.

Thousands Of Children's Lives At Risk As Deadly Cholera Outbreak Spreads Through Sudan
Save The Children has reported today (11 July) that Cholera is likely to put thousands of more lives at risk as South Sudan is facing one of the worst humanitarian crises on the continent,
The latest cholera outbreak in the Torit County is growing rapidly and illustrates how the highly infectious disease is quickly spreading throughout the country.
This is the latest outbreak of a disease that has already contaminated over 2,600 people and killed more than 60 since the first cases were reported by Save The Children in Juba on 15th May.
Cholera causes severe vomiting and diarrhoea among children and adults, which in turn leads to severe dehydration and, if treatment is not provided rapidly, to patients' death. The disease has now spread to many areas in the country, with outbreaks or alerts reported in nine out of ten States.
Children because of their age and developmental stage, are particularly susceptible to dying from the disease.
South Sudanese children are even more vulnerable as seven months of violence has forced 1.5 million people from their homes and brought the world's youngest nation, which turned three on 9 July to the brink of famine.
Calamantina livers in Sudan with her children. Her four-year old-daughter, Lopa, is being treated for cholera at the Save the Children-supported health centre in Idale, Eastern Equatoria, South Sudan. Calamantina lost three children to cholera in 2006.

Calamantina and her four year old daughter Lopa who has cholera and other child sit outside the health clinic where a drip is hung from a nearby tree.
Calamantina says, "I have experienced death of my children from cholera. In 2006, three of my children died from cholera and now this is the second time it is here.
At that time my children started vomiting and had diarrhoea. After three days, one passed away. The following day, another passed away and after five days, my ten year old son passed away.
Lopa is still somehow sick and Iâm worried about that. Sheâs in a lot of pain â her stomach. When she goes to the toilet, itâs just liquid.
My other children passed away because there was no proper treatment like weâre having now. Iâm asking the Government to increase the work theyâre doing here to help my children. Itâs the Governmentâs responsibility."

Jina, five, being treated for cholera at Save the Children supported health centre in Hiyala, South Sudan.
The Save the Children supported health centre in Hiyala, Eastern Equatoria, South Sudan is receiving an increasing number of patients with suspected cases of cholera. Save the Children is providing staff, medicines and training to treat patients and help prevent the spread of the highly infectious disease. If those suffering from cholera do not receive immediate medical attention, there is a high risk that they can die from dehydration.
The cases in Hiyala are part of an alarming trend of increasing cholera cases across the country. As the rainy season continues to intensify, there is a great risk of the disease spreading rapidly. Save the Children is urgently scaling up its response to the growing cholera crisis.

Peru now exports more illegally-produced gold than it does cocaine and Peru is one of the world's largest gold exporters.
Though there are many who profit from this gold rush, there is a population of women that are slaves to the process, known as the Daughters of Awichita.
Peruvian photographer Omar Lucas has captured a series of thought-provoking images of the women working in the gold mines.
The photos were taken in La Rinconada, a place that is five hours away from Lake Titicaca, where there is a population of about 70,000 people who live on the gold they extract from the edges of a snowy mountain.

Just Days To Go: Pictures Show Russian Olympic City Not Ready
With just days to go until the start of the Sochi winter Olympics, these pictures suggest the city is not ready for the showcase event.
The shocking pictures by local journalist Alexander Valov depict the area around the Sochi Olympic Park in an unfinished state.
Documenting the progress of construction and infrastructure works while walking around the immediate area of the Olympic Park on 23 January, Mr Valov found numerous cases where he claims works had not been finished.
From his observations, he suggests that volunteer accommodation was still without electricity and sewage systems, pathways laid directly onto soil have already failed and have had to be hastily patched up, grass landscaping has been been laid incorrectly and dried up, litter and construction debris blight the area and open manholes on pathways are covered in flimsy wooden covers.
However Alexander suggests that an area he believes will be used by President Vladimir Putin has been prioritised: "It is natural for Putin to make the place where he will ape in front of video cameras and, of course, it is closed to mere mortals," he says.
Describing his tour, Alexander said: "Today (23 Jan), 15 days before the start of the Games, I walked to Imerati Valley, the site of the Olympic Park, which in the official pictures looks just fine, but the reality is far more prosaic: walkways laid for the Olympics, already collapsing, construction workers and a contactless current arena, repairs have no end. Construction debris and household garbage are a common occurrence to the areas adjacent to the Olympic Park as there...

Marilyn Monroe Had Plastic Surgery X-Rays Reveal
A set of six rare X-rays and a file of doctors' notes indicating that Hollywood sex symbol Marilyn Monroe underwent cosmetic surgery will be up for auction next month.
Beverly Hills auction house Julien's Auctions announced the sale on Tuesday 9 October and said the medical files, which reveal some of the actress's medical history, are expected to fetch between $15,000 and $30,000 (GBP 9,000 and GBP 18,000) at the Icons and Idols Hollywood Auction on November 9 and 10.
The file includes X-rays and doctors' notes from the office of Dr. Michael Gurdin, M.D. and the X-ray office of Drs. Conti and Steinberg.
With her eye-catching looks and perfect figure Marilyn Monroe was the epitome of Hollywood glamour and beauty.
Rumours regarding Marilyn Monroe's plastic surgery have been a topic of discussion for many years and remained a mystery until now.
The chief complaint listed in the records is "chin deformity" and goes on to give a medical history that begins in 1950 and ends in 1962.
Listed are a 1956 bout of Neutropenia in England; 1957 ectopic pregnancy in New York and a 1950 cartilage implant in the chin that the doctor observed had slowly begun to dissolve.
Those with knowledge of the implant procedure have explained that this was done in association with a tip rhinoplasty, a procedure involving the tip of Marilyn Monroe's nose only.
The last entry of the medical files is dated June 7, 1962, and reports a fall at between 2am and 3am resulting in swelling and tenderness of the nose.
Monroe was brought to Dr. Gurdin by her psychoanalyst Dr. Ra...

Sea lions sleep in a large pile, Moss Landing, California, America - Mar 2013

Sea lions have completely taken over a pier. There are so many that some sea lions are sleeping on top of each other.
Move Over A Bit: Sea Lions Lying On Sea Lions
Oi! Move over!
These hilarious pictures show sea lions lying on... sea lions.
The snug scene was captured by Michael Yang on a pier in California.
He explains: "Sea lions have taken over one of the piers in Moss Landing, trying to keep themselves dry and warm. There are so many of them on the pier that, in some places, they are sleeping on top of each other.
"Male sea lions average over 600 pounds in weight while female sea lions are just over 200 pounds. They must have a really thick layer of blubber cushioning them; the sea lions on the bottom didn't seem to be bothered by the fact that there were several other sea lions sleeping on top of it.
"Other than keeping clear of the pier, staying upwind of these massive creatures is also a good idea. With just a small change of the wind, you can catch a strong scent of rotten fish emanating from them.
"I've been going to Moss Landing to photograph for several years now and the sea lions are always on the pier, sleeping and basking in the sun. In fact, there is a sign posted on the pier that reads: 'Danger. Attention Kayakers. Stay Clear of Dock'."
