    EXCLUSIVE. Coleman-Rayner
Malibu, CA, USA. February 27, 2019
Sir Anthony HopkinsÍ Malibu mansion appears to be facing new danger in the wake of torrential flooding and mudslides in the region. The $4.9 million four-storey, red and white brick property miraculously survived CaliforniaÍs devastating wildfires in November 2018. However these new aerial photos show it still suffered some serious-looking damage. Numerous windows have been replaced, with blue tarpaulin installed whilst builders make repairs. Banks on the cliff front have been reinforced with large amounts of concrete, presumably to prevent the back garden from crumbling into the Pacific Ocean. Meanwhile Sir AnthonyÍs immediate neighbors had their home completely burnt to the ground.

Meet Carlow the firefighting cat. Well, not quite firefighting, you are more likely to find this rescued male moggie asleep on a pile of crew jackets, or asleep on a fire truck, or under one for that matter.

Four-year-old Carlow lives in a firehouse in Yorkville, Manhattan after being found and adopted by firefighters of Engine 22, Ladder 13.

He was an underfed stray kitten found hiding in a tyre at a mechanic?s shop when they found him.

"The idea was that Carlow could help keep mice out of the firehouse. Ever since he's been here, we don't see many mice at all," comments a fire station spokesperson, who says they are 'Carlow's PR'.

Mostly, found dozing, there is some excitement : a disgruntled Carlow is pictured being given a wash along with the comment: "Throwback nightmare to the time they tried to wash me".

These scary ladies look good enough to eat. A creative baker has made cake-pops featuring horror movie characters.

As Halloween approaches who wouldn't want to tuck into a blood-soaked Sissy Spacek from Carrie, Kathy Bates in Misery or a truly chilling Linda Blair in The Exorcist?

But talented Miss Insomnia Tulip from Leeds, who specialises in creating quirky treats with famous faces, has also fashioned horror movie bad guys including Freddy Krueger and Jason from the Friday the 13th films.

Also getting the cake-pop - basically a cake on a lollypop stick - treatment are stars form the world of music including Freddie Mercury, Elvis, Bob Marley and, impressively, ABBA.

    Picture Perfect Pumpkins
An artist who carves amazingly intricate versions of famous faces into pumpkins has unveiled his latest creations in time for Halloween.

Alex Wer spends up to six hours on his stunning carvings which include characters from blockbuster movies Harry Potter, The Lord of The Rings and Spiderman.

This year the 44-year-old has even made a special tribute piece to the late Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs, with the caption 'iChangedTheWorld'.

The instantly recognisable faces of popular cartoon characters Woody and Buzz Lightyear also light up the extraordinary collection.

The 44-year-old mortgage broker, known as The Pumpkin Geek, sells his pumpkins for around GBP 50each on his website thepumpkingeek.com.

He said: "I've always loved carving, and a few years ago my wife asked me to carve her company logo into a pumpkin for a work do.

"At the work do the piece was a huge hit and I got thirty-five orders that night and never looked back."

Alex from, Sacramento in California, uses artificial pumpkins so that they last forever.

He painstakingly removes the layers in four stages to create different areas of light and shade.

The finished product is then illuminated with a 30 watt bulb, instead of the traditional candle, to reveal the sculpture in all its glory.

Star Wars' Yoda, Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper are just a few of the film characters in Alex's expansive collection.

Other famous faces include David Tennant, Oprah Winfrey and Hugh Laurie.

His pieces have gained him a celebrity following - Gene Simmons from KISS and Kate Beckinsale are both fans of his work.

Even Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore - currently making the news with their alleged marriage difficulties - have been recreated with incredible accuracy.

He added: "Carving has not just b...

An artist has created incredible tributes to her favourite films - on her fingernails.

Maya Pixelskaya has painstakingly recreated scenes from movies including Jaws, The Nightmare before Christmas and Amelie.

Her finger nails have also been the canvas to stills from videogames such as Monkey Island and Doom.

"I'm a videogame and art lover so I decided to combine both in order to create unique designs," Maya explained.

The 26- year-old, who lives in Madrid, would often find herself bored while revising for university exams, so to pass the time she would paint miniature film characters on her nails.

She said: "I needed to keep my finger still for hours while the polish dried so it was the perfect time-consuming activity to do when I wasn't meant to be moving away from my revision notes."
