The ribbons that the medals hang from has been woven with 50% recycled PET yarn and the cases are made from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) wood.
The awards have been created, under direction from the Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Rio 2016, by the Mint of Brazil (CMB).

Tigger the cat is not just your regular feline; he is 21 years old and working his way through a very exciting bucket list.
His owners Adrienne Buisch and Michael Trentadue adopted Tigger after seeing a local Facebook page post saying that he had been abandoned by his owner at a vet surgery in Canton, Baltimore. Tigger was aged 20 at the time.
After taking Tigger in and nursing him back to health from kidney failure, the couple soon discovered a large tumour on his abdomen. Shortly after the discovery, a bucket list was created, so Tigger could enjoy the last of his days.
Adriene, who works at another vet surgery in Baltimore, said: "When we came across Tigger's story it was less than 24 hours later that we adopted him. He had been at the vet hospital for over 9 months."

FULL COPY: http://www.rexfeatures.com/nanolink/rloe
A fascinating photo project shows the pioneering women of India training to be taxi drivers.
Photographer Claudio Montesano Casillas' Crossroads series documents the courage of females entering a traditionally male-dominated occupation.
He worked with non-profit organisation "Women on Wheels", which empowers resource poor women to become professional drivers to enable them to gain remunerative ?livelihoods with dignity?.
Claudio's images show the ladies learning skills ranging from changing tyres to self-defense techniques.
He explains: "This photo reportage is a testimony of the courage of some women in New Delhi and Jaipur (India) who despite going against all odds, chose a different road to re-craft their own destiny."

PEOPLE - Kim Wild zeigt ihr Nackt-Selbstportrait in London

Kim Wilde unveils a nude self-portrait created in 1990It has now been framed by John Jones and launches an online auction for charity via www.wildecancerfoundation.com. The benefitting charity is the 'Hertfordshire Breast Unit Appeal', where her sister in law Mandy Smith was treated for Breast Cancer. The Breast Unit in WGC came about because of a fund raising mission by Vicki Adkins MBE. Vicki's own experience with breast cancer led her to realise that a dedicated place for people to deal with such a traumatic event in their lives was badly needed within the QE2 hospital in W.G.C Hertfordshire. Vicki contacted Kim in the early fund raising days and she was very happy to help out at several events. Eventually when the unit was built Vicki asked Kim to design a garden attached to the unit - a private, peaceful space for anyone affected by breast cancer to go and take time out away from other patients and staff.
Kim commented on the self portrait - 'I called this 'Sunburn' and was inspired to do it after reading an amazing book about Frida Kahlo by Hayden Herrera. I'd forgotten I had it until I cleared out a cluttered room, and there it was inside my old art portfolio from college. When I saw it I thought that it would be perfect to raise money for my chosen charity. It has since been generously framed by John Jones (London) who, frankly, are much more used to framing priceless works of art!'

Gorilla seemingly mulls over what to do with the pumpkin
Gorillas play with pumpkins, Paignton Zoo, Devon, Britain - 30 Oct 2015

What happens when you give big pumpkins to big gorillas??
Phil Knowling, from Paignton Zoo, said: ?Huge pumpkins like these make great environmental enrichment for animals ? it?s like giving your pet a toy, just with a bit more science. We gave them to the gorillas but smaller animals like red pandas and spider monkeys enjoy them too ? they can climb right inside a hollowed out pumpkin. It?s great to see what they do with these unusual and unexpected items!?
Riverford Organic Farms donated two gigantic pumpkins to the animals at Paignton Zoo Environmental Park. The mega-vegetables, each weighing roughly 70 kilos, were grown by Riverford for their Pumpkin Day.
