A floppy sun hat with built in solar panels for powering gadgets when hiking or camping, has hit the market.
The Power Hat is said to be capable of charging a flat smartphone to capacity in three to four hours.
The hat has been created by US company EcoFlow which says it captures solar energy from all angles without any blind spots.
At only one-eighth the thickness of conventional solar panels, it's lightweight, thin, and comfortable for extended wear.
It also folds down to fit into a backpack.
The hat’s solar cells are made from a thin, flexible material called passivated emitter and covered with a waterproof silicon.
It offers roughly 12-watt charging via the USB-A and USB-C connectors on the underside of the brim. The whole thing weighs 370 grams.
An EcoFlow spokesperson said: “The hat works well in wet environments like by the sea or lake, and can be used in light rain.
“It is also resistant to sand and dust, splash-proof, and crack-resistant, making it durable and suitable for outdoor use without needing delicate handling.”
The hat, which comes in two head sizes, is available to preorder with shipping expected to start in mid-September for $79 USD

FEATURE - Aston Martin fertigt in limitierter Auflage Replikate von 007's 'Goldfinger'-Auto an - komplett mit Gadgets
Aston Martin is restarting the production on the 'most famous car in the world' - James Bond's DB5 Goldfinger.
Aston Martin’s DB5, which appeared the 1964 flick Goldfinger, is rolling back into production, and the 25 of the limited-edition rides cost £2.75m, plus taxes.
Fewer than 900 saloon examples were built by the brand between 1963 and 1965, with by far the most famous of the original owners being the world’s best-known secret agent.
Now, 55 years after the last new DB5 rolled elegantly off the production line at Aston Martin’s then global manufacturing base in Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire, work is once again under way there on a strictly limited number of new DB5 models.
Created in association with the producers of the James Bond films, EON Productions, and featuring a broad suite of working gadgets first seen on screen in the 1964 film, the Aston Martin DB5 Goldfinger Continuation cars are history in the making.
The latest in Aston Martin’s phenomenally successful Continuation car programme which began in 2017 with the DB4 GT Continuation the new DB5 models represent among the most valuable new cars yet brought to market by the British luxury brand.
The meticulous DB5 Goldfinger Continuation construction process – which takes around 4,500 hours per car – is being undertaken at Aston Martin’s globally renowned Heritage Division headquarters in Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire.
Now the largest, best equipped and most knowledgeable Aston Martin restoration centre in the world, the invaluable and highly specialist skills nurtured at Aston Martin Works are perfectly suited to the brand’s celebrated Continuation projects.
Each of the 25 new cars is being built to the highest possible quality using a blend of Sir David Brown-era old world craftsmanship, with the sympathetic application of modern engineering advancements and performance enhancements, alongside the integration of cutting-edge gadgets developed in association with C
