Lego has unveiled its largest ever set— a detailed model of the Ancient Roman Colosseum made up of 9,036 bricks. The previous record holder was scale model of Hans Solo’s Millennium Falcon space ship from Star Wars which was made up of 7,541-pieces.The Colosseum is 27cm high, 52cm wide and 59cm) deep and reflects the building as it is today. It is scheduled to launch on November 27th which is Black Friday .It will costs just a few cents short of €488 euros. The real Colosseum opened in AD80, and held up to 80,000 spectators. The model accurately reflects the building techniques used by architects of the time. The set includes the 80 ‘ribs’ in the spectator stands, the exact same number as the original, while three different types of coloured bricks replicate the aging of the almost 2,000-year-old landmark. It also highlights the three distinct stories on the structure, , each one being adorned with, in turn, doric, ionic and corinthian columns.
