The son of vicious swan Mr Asbo has been attacking punters and birds on the River Cam in Cambridge - but was put in his place when he tried to take on a cow. The bird, who has been nicknamed Asboy, appears to be following in his father's footsteps by terrorising rowers and punters on the famous Backs in the university city. His dad, Mr Asbo, was moved to a secret location by the river authorities last year after he attacked numerous rowers, biting their arms and legs. Now residents fear he has been replaced by Asboy, who has moved upstream and is now targeting tourists in punts. Recently, tourists screamed in horror as they saw him viciously attack another swan, grabbing it by the neck with his beak. Asboy tried to drown the other swan, holding its neck under the water for about 15 seconds, then when it wriggled free he sat on it. The swan only escaped when its partner came to the rescue.

The son of vicious swan Mr Asbo is following in his father's footsteps by terrorising punters on the River Cam in Cambridge during the peak summer season. The feathered fiend, who has been nicknamed Asboy, is targeting terrified tourists as they row and punt on the famous Backs in the university city. His dad, Mr Asbo, was moved to a secret location by the river authorities two years ago and had his wings clipped to stop him returning after he repeatedly attacked and bit rowers. Now he has been replaced by Asboy, who rules the roost on the River Cam by swimming up and down pecking at punters and flying into families on the waterway. The swan attacks any boat which gets too close, including canoes and rowing boats.

A vicious swan has been nicknamed 'Mr Asbo' after capsizing boats and attacking rowers on a city river. Rowers are now being warned to stay away from the bad-tempered bird, which has been snapping and hissing at rowers who get too near. The angry bird is part of a nesting pair and is very protective of his nest.

What an impressive shot!
Alan Sailer creates amazing images of everyday items being hit by projectiles.
Using high-speed photography, he can capture in stunning detail the moment items such as marbles and pellets pass through objects.
The jaw-dropping results include a pellet shredding three cigarettes, a marble destroying an ice cream cone and the shooting of stacks of staples.
Other targeted highlights include cans of drink, ice lollies, a cherry pie and a tub of cream cheese.
Based in Camarillo, California, the 56-year-old is a microwave engineer by day, but pursues his hobby in his garage in the evening.
Getting the shots is all in the timing. Alan opens the shutter on his camera on a one second exposure with one hand, while firing the rifle or air cannon with the other. A powerful flash is triggered when the projectile passes through a laser beam.
His set-up allows him the option to not only fire pellets and marbles at 500ft per second, but items such as Christmas ornaments filled with coloured gelatine.
Alan began his hobby after building his own 20,000 volt microsecond flash in 2008. He was encouraged when an image he took of a pellet being split by a razor blade caused a stir online.
"I was very surprised at the reaction to the razor blade splitting the pellet shot. It has had over 270,000 views and made me a little famous. The shot scared me, I didn't know if pieces of razor blade would come flying out."
Contrary to the destructive nature of his work, Alan isn't a fan of firearms.
He explains: "Bye the bye, I don't like guns as some people seem to think from the photos. It just that the only way to get great high speed photos is to photograph something going at high spee...
