"Are you OK buddy?" a seagull seems to be saying as it inpects a poorly California sea lion resting on the beach.
Thankfully, the concerned bird wasn't the only one on hand to aid the stricken mammal.
A team from The Marine Mammal Center rehabilitation facility attended the scene at Moss Landing, California and carried out a rescue.
Wildlife photographer Michael Yang captured the incident as the seven-person team cautiously approached the sea lion, before carrying it away to be treated.
Laura Sherr, of the Marine Mammal Center, said: "This animal has been named is Karen Light, as we name all our patients, and was rescued due to lethargy, shaking, underweight, and allowing people to approach."

Thousands Of Children's Lives At Risk As Deadly Cholera Outbreak Spreads Through Sudan
Save The Children has reported today (11 July) that Cholera is likely to put thousands of more lives at risk as South Sudan is facing one of the worst humanitarian crises on the continent,
The latest cholera outbreak in the Torit County is growing rapidly and illustrates how the highly infectious disease is quickly spreading throughout the country.
This is the latest outbreak of a disease that has already contaminated over 2,600 people and killed more than 60 since the first cases were reported by Save The Children in Juba on 15th May.
Cholera causes severe vomiting and diarrhoea among children and adults, which in turn leads to severe dehydration and, if treatment is not provided rapidly, to patients' death. The disease has now spread to many areas in the country, with outbreaks or alerts reported in nine out of ten States.
Children because of their age and developmental stage, are particularly susceptible to dying from the disease.
South Sudanese children are even more vulnerable as seven months of violence has forced 1.5 million people from their homes and brought the world's youngest nation, which turned three on 9 July to the brink of famine.
Calamantina livers in Sudan with her children. Her four-year old-daughter, Lopa, is being treated for cholera at the Save the Children-supported health centre in Idale, Eastern Equatoria, South Sudan. Calamantina lost three children to cholera in 2006.

It's A Barbie World: Artist Recreates Iconic Artwork With Dolls
An artist has recreated iconic artwork and replaced the subjects with Barbie dolls.
Combining her happy childhood memories of playing with the plastic dolls and pictures she loves and admires, Jocelyne Grivaud has recreated 20 representations of Barbie; owing her thanks to Ruth Handler, creator of Barbie.
Jocelyne grew up playing with Barbie dolls and enjoyed dressing them up in outfits her mother had made for them.
Highlights of Jocelyne's artwork include Barbie as the Mona Lisa - her personal favourite; Barbie draped in pearls imitating Coco Chanel and posed as Marilyn Monroe in Andy Warhol's pop-art poster.
It can take Jocelyne an hour to several days to recreate the iconic artwork with a playful Barbie twist.
She said: "Barbie is often criticised for being too blonde, too superficial, too skinny, too "ideal marketing", too "this" and too "that" so my aim was to adjust Barbie's profile to resemble iconic representations that were popular and praised throughout history."

It would seem that even the most fashion conscious of celebs can have an off day.
The stylists of these dreadfully dressed divas were obviously not around when they stepped out of the front door.
If they had they surely would have uttered that immortal line: "You're not going out like that!"
When left unattended there's no end of fashion faux pas a star can commit when looking for a 'stand out from the crowd' outfit.
But then looking fabulous 24/7 is something not even the most dedicated of A-listers can achieve.
And navigating the tricky minefield of fashion can be tricky at the best of times and pure style suicide at the worst.
Your 'unusual' outfit can just as easily be feted on every best dressed list as see you plunging to the bottom of the reject pile.

Johnny Depp surprises Comanche Nation with advanced screening of "The Lone Ranger"
Lawton, OK - Johnny Depp and Ladonna Harris arrive at an advanced screening of "The Lone Ranger" held at Carmike Cinemas. The surprise visit to Southwest Oklahoma comes just one day before the film's world premiere at Disney's California Adventure. Johnny, who was adopted by the tribe last year, feels a special connection to the Comanche people. Last year, the Hollywood A-lister attended the Comanche Nation Fair and met with members of the tribe. Johnny was hosted by the Comanche nation and Tribal chairman Wallace Coffey. Johnny's adopted Comanche mother LaDonna Harris was also present at Carmike Cinemas. Mega producer Jerry Bruckheimer as well as the film's director Gore Verbinski addressed the starstruck crowd prior to the screening. Fancy dancers and tribal princesses were on hand for the celebration. Before the screening, Johnny told the crowd, "I'm so proud to be here and so proud to be a part of this. If I can help in any way to pass the message along to the children, to understand that where they come from, they are warriors and nothing less.".
