NEWS - Ukraine-Konflikt: Tote nach Luftangriff auf Kinderspital in Mariupol
Mandatory Credit: Photo by EyePress News/Shutterstock (12842552k)
Image grab from footage released by Ukraine Armed Forces on Thursday March 9, 2022 allegedly shows aftermath of Russia army bombardment on a children hospital in Mariupol, southeastern Ukraine, causing enormous destructions. The Ukraine Armed Forces does not indicate casualties of the strikes. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky confirms the strike of the maternity hospital in Mariupol, saying in his online post: \'People, children are under the wreckage. Atrocity! How much longer will the world be an accomplice ignoring terror? Close the sky right now! Stop the killings! You have power but you seem to be losing humanity.\' The Red Cross say the humanitarian crisis in Mariupol is apocalyptic and worsening by the hour as Russia continues to bombard the besieged Ukrainian city. Mariupol is a city of regional significance in south eastern Ukraine, situated on the north coast of the Sea of Azov at the mouth of the Kalmius river, in the Pryazovia region. It is the tenth-largest city in Ukraine, and the second largest in Donetsk Oblast with a population of 431,859.

The campaign is organised by Rising Up, and the event happened on the day that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has issued a special report on the impact of global warming of 1.5C. Campaigners used removable chalk spray to write on the windows of Bristol Magistrates Court, and blocked the main road before being removed by police. There were three arrests. FULL COPY: http://www.rexfeatures.com/nanolink/ruls
Like human beings, cats can experience a variety of emotions.
A photographer has captured images of her cat's expressions, ranging from bemused, angry, grumpy and hungry.
Imogen the cat is owned by television editor Casey Christopher.
Casey said: "I adopted Imogen in December of 2013 and have been photographing her daily ever since.
"She's become a really good model and will even meow on command. When she hears the bag of treats open, she comes running and knows it is time to work. She's very expressive and self-confident and I love that about her."
Casey shoots with a Nikon D800 and a 35 mm lens.
She added: "I like the focus to be on her face so recently I've begun shooting her in front of a backdrop."

FULL WORDS: http://www.rexfeatures.com/nanolink/si1b
A Japanese village has been replacing humans with life-sized dolls after death.
The doll population in Nagoro, Shikoku Island, now hugely outnumbers people in this isolated mountain village. A 67-year-old woman, Tsukimi Ayano, has spent years weaving more than 350 of these dolls to remember her once-flourishing community.
The lifeless figures now dwarf the 30 or so residents left in the village.

Captivating Photos Show Trees Growing In The Middle Of Busy Hong Kong
These amazing pictures show trees growing in the middle of Hong Kong's busiest district.
French photographer Romain Jacquet-Lagreze shot the eye-catching photo series, entitled Wild Concrete, in the Mong Kok area of the city.
The images from Wild Concrete were published in a book released last month. (May 17, 2014)
Romain says the series is about the resilience of nature in an urban environment.
Focusing solely on the phenomena of trees sprouting from residential buildings, Wild Concrete compares the living conditions between plants and humans both growing in harsh surroundings.
Romain explains: "In this series the trees share the same exceptional qualities as their human counterparts: perseverance, diligence, and independence."
The photographer came across the wild trees by chance while he was shooting in the area.
He says: "Mong Kok, the most busy and crowded district of Hong Kong, and probably in the world. I was so amazed that such a tree could manage to grow and thrive on such an unlikely location. I found it very symbolic to see how it created its own home among the residential buildings where people are living.
"This place is so dense that there is not much space for greenery. This tree invited itself in here, a bit like if it was challenging the whole city."
The tree's existence made him curious if there might be any other trees growing in the middle of the busy city.
"So I began to look for them and that is how the series started," he says.
Romain believes Hong Kong is the perfect combination of a dense city with easy-access to relaxing getaways such as beaches and small islands.
"From a more personal point of view, what I love most is the visual identity of the city, it's very graphic and it gives me ...

Squirrels in funny poses, Florida, America - Oct 2011

Squirrel Nuts-kin
These two grey squirrels have been photographed in hilarious poses by a grandmother from Tampa, Florida.
Kathy Pruyn photographed the furry critters riding a skateboard, playing a piano, and even pushing a wheelchair.
The retired postwoman set up the hilarious scenes by strategically placing peanuts and peanut butter on toys.
One comical shot shows a squirrel apparently 'singing' into a microphone while another shoots a game of pool.
Kathy also carefully encourages the creatures to stand behind signs bearing slogans such as 'smile and the world smiles with you'.
Kathy said: "I fed the squirrels after they fell out of a nest and when I released them they still came back to my garden for food.
"One day I was going through the old toys that needed throwing out and I just thought it would be funny to see the squirrels with them.
"I thought the idea of seeing what the squirrels might do with the Barbie hand-me-downs, scented with peanut butter, might be kind of interesting.
"Since they are really wild animals and live in the trees I have to hope they have a taste of hunger for peanuts or peanut butter that day.
"Sometimes they eat too fast and I can't get the picture, other times they run off with the toy and leave it in the tree".

When having lunch at a restaurant Seal got upset and annoyed when a few photographers got 'too close' to his family. He was heard saying 'I'll kill you,' to one of the photographers. 'If you ever touch my wife or any other member of my family. I know where to find you.' The photographer didn't back down, but Seal would not listen to reason. The photographer responded 'I was tripped, I never touched anyone'.

Heidi Klum and husband Seal were having a quiet afternoon lunch at a restaurant in New York City until the paparazzi showed up. Heidi and Seal brought along their daughter Leni and a friend to the lunch. Seal got obviously upset and annoyed when a few photographers got 'too close' to his family. He was heard saying 'I'll kill you,' to one of the photographers. 'If you ever touch my wife or any other member of my family. I know where to find you.' The photographer didn't back down, but Seal would not listen to reason. The photographer responded 'I was tripped, I never touched anyone'.
