Munching Monkeys Go Ape For Pollen
Once glance at these monkeys and it's clear who ate all the flowers.

Rather than being caught red handed it was more a case of caught yellow faced when these greedy primates went on a feeding spree.

The Callithrix Monkeys were spotted covered in yellow pollen after gorging on ceiba tree flowers in the Niokolo-Koba National Park in Senegal.

To begin with the hungry creatures decorously picked the flowers before gently nibbling them.

But after finding them to their taste the group soon forgot their table manners and it was every monkey for himself.

The end result was a troupe with sticky hands, arms and faces covered in yellow pollen.

Ceiba tree flowers are filled with nectar, which make them a tasty sweet treat for a whole host of animals.

Callithrix monkeys are also known as green monkeys because of their golden-green fur and pale hands and feet.

They are highly social and can live in groups numbering from 7 to 80 individuals that have a distinct social hierarchy.
