Dexter the Cat Bats Mouse into the Air, California, America - Nov 2011

The Real Life Tom and Jerry: Cat Plays Ball with Mouse
This is the incredible moment a cat shows off its ball skills - by batting a mouse into the air.
Whatever kind of day most people have had it will not be as bad as the unsuspecting mouse that ended up becoming dish of the day for this playful cat.
These astonishing images were taken by amateur photographer Angelo DeSantis who arrived home to find his two-year-old cat Dexter playing with a mouse.
Mr DeSantis captured the once-in-a-life-time shot of Dexter throwing the mouse into the air with such force the mouse does a somersault.
Meanwhile Dexter is posed like an American ball player just after hitting the ball.
Mr DeSantis arrived back to his house in Grass Valley, California after visiting his parents-in-law and quickly grabbed his camera when he caught sight of Dexter playing Cat and Mouse.
He explained: "I found Dexter in the garden playing with what I thought were leaves but when I looked closer I realised it was a mouse.
"He was playing with it just like he does with his stuffed toys.
"I grabbed my camera and started taking some action shots of Dexter playing and I was lucky enough to capture Dexter throwing the mouse into the air.
"The poor mouse looked like it was doing some kind of gymnastics."
While Dexter's family were away he began to play and at one point the frolicsome pussycat teased the mouse by letting it go and then doing a nose dive to pin it back down.
One of images also shows what appears to be Dexter putting the mouse into a headlock while wrestling it to the floor.
"He often brings mice home but I have never witnessed him playing with his food in such a way before," Angelo said.

Pilot lands Fokker Dreidecker aircraft on its nose at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, Cambridgeshire, Britain - 12 Jul 2011
Mandatory Credit: Photo by Philip Tyler / Rex Features ( 1379944a )
What A Fokk Up!
This misfortunate pilot "Fokked up" when he landed his vintage tri-plane on its nose.
The man had been flying the famous Fokker Dreidecker aircraft at the Flying Legends airshow at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford, Cambsridgeshire.
But when he landed the WW1 fighter aircraft a sudden gust of wind blew it on its nose.
Plane spotter Philip Tyler, who captured the embarrassing moment on camera, said: "The Dreidecker did a display to show the sort of fighting that would have taken place during a typical dog-fight in the First World War.
"The plane has triple wings so develops a lot of lift and appears to float in the air when it is flying, which allows for some impressive manoeuvres in the air.
"But all that lift has a downside when coming into land as the slightest breeze can play havoc.
"On this occasion the plane landed when it must have caught a breeze which was just enough to unbalance it."
A number of people went to help the poor pilot and the plane was soon righted so he could climb out.
"The planes are quite light to move and the pilot was soon walking around," Philip added.
No one was hurt in the incident.

Curious beluga whale presses face against side of tank at the Mystic Aquarium, Connecticut, America - 26 Feb 2011
Mandatory Credit: Photo by Nicole Perkins/Solent News / Rex Features ( 1301984e )
I Want To Get To Nose You
This inquisitive beluga whale ended up with a squashed nose when he tried to get closer to visitors at his aquarium.
The curious eight-year-old creature, called Juno, swam straight up to the glass when he spotted people watching him from the other side.
And he caused much amusement when he pressed his entire face up to the pane, flattening his nose and chin as he struggled to get a better look.
The unusual sight was captured on camera by Nicole Perkins at the Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut, America.
The 30-year-old, from Groton, Connecticut, said friendly Juno is particularly popular with visitors.
She explained: "Juno is very interactive with guests.
"On this occasion he came over to check out some trinkets I had with me - shiny beads, a slinky, money and a set of keys.
"He swam up to me, watched for a second, then pressed his head on the glass before backing off and watching again.
"The visitors get really excited when they see him and they all want to be photographed with him.
"He really is a blast to play with."
Juno measures 11 feet, nine inches in length and weighs around 1,320 lbs.
He is currently one of three belugas who share a one-acre outdoor habitat, called Arctic Coast, at Mystic Aquarium.
Born in July 2002, the friendly whale usually lives at SeaWorld, Orlando, but was loaned to the Mystic Aquarium in January last year in the hope that he would breed.

Polar bears move in symmetry as they play fight, Hudson Bay, Canada - 15 Oct 2010
Mandatory Credit: Photo by Valerie Abbott/Solent News / Rex Features ( 1276872f )
Getting To Nose You
Two polar bears move in perfect symmetry as they kill time waiting for a bay to ice over so they could hunt.
The young males shadowed each other in what looked like a carefully choreographed routine.
They went nose to nose in a slow dance, paw to paw in a boxing match and jaw to jaw in a play fight.
The bears, which stand nine feet tall and weigh a staggering 70 stones, even appeared to do press-ups in time with each other.
They were waiting with dozens of other bears for Hudson Bay to freeze over, north of Churchill Manitoba, Canada.
When the water turns to ice they will go hunting for seals.
Photographer Valerie Abbott, 53, who captured the remarkable scenes, got within 70 yards of the bears.
She said: "One of the largest populations of wild polar bears live in the area and congregate this time of year near the bay.
"This is one of the first areas of Hudson Bay to freeze.
"While they are waiting there is a lot of sparring going on.
"Even though it is 'play', they are establishing a domination order and are keeping their muscles and skills finely tuned.
"The dominance is a factor as this determines who goes out on the ice first."
Valerie, from North Carolina, United States, added: "We were 70 yards away from them but there was no threat because we were in a specially designed Tundra Buggy that keeps you safely off ground.
"It is a trek to get to see them - you have to go over the tundra for about 45 minutes to an hour to find the hotspots.
"Just getting to Churchill is an adventure too."
