"The marionette-like jewellery also reinforces the idea of training the hand to rest in this graceful manner."
Jennifer has also created a series called 'Unguarded Gestures' which consists of prosthetic-like necklaces and neckpieces that encourage the w...

Ornamental Hands series references the elegant hand positions often seen in historic artworks throughout the centuries. Each work consists of splint-like attachments for the fingers that are suspended by chains and braced on the wrist, positioning the hands marionette style.
Statement Jewellery Encourages Gesture
Here is a collection of jewellery that will get you noticed.
Making a bold statement this series of mechanical jewellery on first glance almost looks like Victorian torture instruments, but are infact designed to amplify body language and encourage gesture.
Created by American designer Jennifer Crupi, the pieces interpret and force various actions and positions of the body - such as the 'power gesture' which requires the user to assume the authoritative steepled fingers, or the 'leg bouncer' which focuses on the ubiquitous anxious tick.
The 39-year-old who lives in New Jersey says her work is inspired by people and their body language.
"Part of my interest in body language also stems from the fact that I have always been a very self-conscious person. I seem to constantly be aware of how I look and am perceived by others," explains Jennifer.
Believing that jewellery plays a great part in body language and the way people portray themselves to others Jennifer has created a series called 'Ornamental Hands' which references elegant hand positions often seen in artworks throughout the centuries.
She says: "Rather than wearing a bracelet to adorn your hand, why not wear a bracelet that positions your hand in a decorative and elegant way?
"The marionette-like jewellery also reinforces the idea of training the hand to rest in this graceful manner."
Jennifer has also created a series called 'Unguarded Gestures' which consists of prosthetic-like necklaces and neckpieces that encourage the w...

Previously Unseen Pictures Of Prince William With The Royal Navy
Previously unseen photographs of Prince William training with the Royal Navy in 2008 have been released.
The images show William visiting Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton, where he met with members from two of the Navy's principal squadrons.
One of these was 848 Naval Air Squadron, which is normally responsible for training the crews that support Royal Marines in operational environments.
Temporarily adopting the callsign 'Avenger 914', William took to the controls of a Royal Navy Mk IV Sea King and lifted off in company with other squadron aircraft.
The images also show William during his stint onboard the HMS Iron Duke while it operated in a number of roles in the North Atlantic.
Primarily, it assisted the Caribbean islands during the core hurricane season and worked closely with the United States Coast Guard forces in the hunt for drug smugglers across the Caribbean region.
During his time onboard the vessel William was involved in planning and surveillance for an operation that saw cocaine valued at GBP 40m seized from a speedboat.
The prince, or Sub Lt Wales as he was known on board, was part of the Lynx helicopter crew that observed the drugs boat.
In other images William is seen wearing the Order of the Garter with his Royal Naval dress uniform onboard the patrol vessel HMS Trumpeter.
Meanwhile, he is also photographed at the Commando Training Centre at Lympstone, Devon during a short introduction into the activities of the Royal Marines.
As part of this he took to the air in a Royal Navy Airborne Surveillance and Area Control (ASaC) Sea King - taking to the controls to land the aircraft on Woodbury Common, where Royal Marine recruits receive much of their training.

Battle at Ypres WWI Canadians v Germans - Ypres, a medieval town in Belgium, was taken by the German Army at the beginning of the war. However, by early October, 1914, the British Expeditionary Force (BEF) was able to recapture the town. The first major German attempt to regain Ypres took place on 15th October. Experienced BEF riflemen held their positions but suffered heavy losses. German attacks took place for the next four weeks but with the arrival of the French Army the line was held. With the weather deteriorating, the Germans decided to abandon the Ypres offensive on the 22nd November. It is estimated that about 135,000 Germans were killed or badly wounded during the offensive. The BEF lost around 75,000 men and was effectively destroyed as a professional army. There were two more major battles at Ypres: 2nd Battle of Ypres (April-May, 1915) and Passchendaele (July-October, 1917). The Second Battle of Ypres, as it is known in British military history, encompassed four battles in the northern sector of the Ypres Salient. The first of these began on 22 April 1915 as a surprise attack by the German 4th Army on the Allied front line. This attack witnessed the first use of a new German weapon on the Western Front: poisonous gas. Its deadly effect was carried on a gentle breeze towards French troops and as a result of its devastating effect on the French the German infantry made a significant advance into Allied territory. During the next four weeks the Allied Forces of Belgium, France and Britain fought to hold off the successful German advance and to regain the ground that had been lost north of Ypres. The fourth battle ended on 25 May 1915.
