Bangladesh: Empty Plastic Drums Collection
July 2, 2025, Chittagong, Bangladesh: Empty plastic drums are collected from various locations and brought here to be arranged. As one drum is stacked on top of another, the growing pile begins to resemble a massive blue hill. These drums are later purchased by well-known companies for industrial purposes used to store items like medicines, oil, and chemicals. At that time, there were approximately 400 to 500 drums in the pile. (Credit Image: © Mohammed Suman/ZUMA Press Wire (FOTO: DUKAS/ZUMA)

Sri Lanka is suffering its worst-ever dengue outbreak, with the mosquito-borne virus killing 227 people and infecting more than 79,000 this year. Last year more than 55,000 cases were diagnosed with dengue and 97 died. Rotting garbage has been piling up in many parts of the capital since the country's main rubbish tip collapsed in April, crushing dozens of homes and killing 32 people.

NEWS - London Brand Grenfell Tower: Bevölkerung spendet Sachen für die Überlebenden
A sea of items have been donated at west London community centres for victims of the Grenfell Tower disaster. Churches, mosques and sports centres have been piled high with clothing, food and other goods as Londoners pulled together to help those who lost everything in the Notting Hill tower block blaze. Kensington Town Hall was also inundated with hundreds of donations and had to inform people on social media on Thursday morning they had no space left for more. Many others had been flooded with so many supplies that they were also turning new donations away. Huge bags of clothes and food covered the Westway Sports Centre on Wednesday as supplies continued to pour in. Pictured : locals search through piles of donations including clothing, toys, and food.
