Said Angela Clare, who made the outfit, Goldie is a bit
worried that the dress will be allowed in Spain. 21-year old Goldie has been living in the United Kingdom for 18 months.

The National Federation of Young Farmers Clubs, held their annual general meeting in Central Hall, Westminster, London. A delegation of young farmers from France had come over to attend the meeting and compare notes with their English colleagues.

NAVY SHORE ESTABLISHMENT USED TO TRAIN MERCHANT SEAMEN
At the Royal Navys only establishment for Merchant Seamen HMS Gordon which takes the form of rambling buildings on dry land with a pier, men from 19 to 41 are put under Naval dsicipline, given naval uniform and taught seamenship before they even board a ship. These are men, who, when they registered, expressed a preferance for the Navy and have been posted to the Merchant Navy.
Practically all the indtruction in this shore establishment for Merchant Seamen, such as learning to shoot, splice, steer a ship and rea a compass, is carried out on dry land, although the school has a motor launch in which the men have steering practice, and learn hos to take soundings.
