    Interior of the Truffle
Spanish Holiday Home 'Created' By A Cow
Innovative architects decided to recruit a cow to help build a tranquil holiday home in Spain.

Ensamble Studio renowned for their creative designs challenged the norm with their choice of building materials for a project in Costa da Morte.

Head architects and principals of Ensamble Studio, Anton Garcia-Abril and Debora Mesa decided that in this case a cow might be better suited to the task.

The Truffle, which they describe as "a piece of nature", now a studio holiday home blends modern interiors seamlessly into a background of nature. The studio is a space within a stone which camouflages and integrates into the natural environment around it.

To create the home within a stone, builders had to first cast a hole in the ground, the next stage involved pouring cement over hay bales set within a soil perimetre. Once the concrete had set, it was sliced open to reveal the hay bales inside.

The most interesting edition to the project Paulina, soon arrived to complete the renovations. She enjoyed her favourite food, which nourished her for a year, until she left the site weighing a healthy 300 kilograms.

And her hard work was a success. Paulina had eaten the interior volume and created space inside the stone, restoring the architectural condition of The Truffle.

The final stage involved furnishing The Truffle and transforming the inside of a stone into a tranquil holiday home, complete with stylish interiors and a contemporary bathroom suite.

The team of architects at Ensamble Studios are always on the lookout for new approaches to develop architectural and urban spaces, and the technologies that build them.

The Truffle completed in 2010, is now a private residence in Spain, it is unknown whether Paulina still visits.

Party Pooches Get Ready For Christmas
Say hello to Santa's little yelpers.

Meet Chihuahuas Baby Crumb, Trixie Truffle and Squiggle, who are all busy getting into the festive spirit.

The Christmas canines are looking forward to some tasty presents this year - with a nice juicy bone top of the list.

In the meantime the party pooches are getting in touch with their inner doggy divas.

Just like their two-legged friends these handsome hounds like to look their best when it comes to the Christmas do.

Once dolled to the nines it's onto the dance floor to shake their tails to the latest tunes.

Then it's back home to eagerly await the arrival of Santa Paws and their very own dog's dinner.

After all, a dog may not just be for Christmas but every dog also has its day - especially when there's turkey involved.
