A designer has gone back to the future—to design a huge yacht with looks inspired by old sailing ships from 300 years ago.The aptly named multi-sailed Galleon could almost have come from a Prates of the Caribbean movie.Except this one is loaded with technology and toys to keep the richest of owners happy. The 160-metre vessel has eight different decks. Its massive size gives it the flexibility of being a cruise ship for up to 200 guests, a sailing vessel with up to 20 private residences, or a large sailing yacht for one owner. On the upper deck guests will find a lounging area, a full luxury bar, and a ee metres by 10 metres pool while a 14 metres by eight metres indoor pool is located on the level below the bridge deck. Both pools featured an automated hard cover that can seal them in order to avoid draining them in rough conditions. on the upper forward decks are two lazy river pools connected by a waterslide.Sports have also been highlighted in this gigayacht.

A sail-powered super freighter for transporting cars across the Atlantic has been unveiled. It will be the world's largest sailing vessel when it launches, at some 200 metres long and 40 metres wide. The Oceanbird concept is said to be capable of transporting up to 7,000 cars at an average speed of 10 knots. A crossing between Europe and Brth America would take 12 days as opposed to the current time with conventional shipping of eight days. But it has an hugely increased load capacity and four 80-metre high extendable wing sails said to reduce emissions by as much as 90 percent. The wing sails, built in metal and composites, can be retracted down to around 20 m when required such as in stormy conditions. It also allows the ship to pass under bridges,The Oceanbird sails would provide most of the ship's power but there will also be engines fitted for manoeuvering close to land and ports and for use in an emergency. The Swedish vessel is a three-way project between shipbuilder Wallenius Marine, which initiated the project, Swedish research institute SSPA and the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.Wallenius expects to deliver the first customer vessel by the end of 2024.
