A host of supercars and uxury limos including a McLaren sports car and a Bentley worth a total of €1 million euros have been publicly destroyed in the Philippines – as a warning to car smugglers.The country’s Bureau of Customs used mechanical diggers to wreck 21 vehicles rather than auction them off.The targeted vehicles included an ultra-rare McLaren 620R, a Bentley Flying Spur and a Porsche 911. There was also a Mercedes SLK, Lotus Elise, modified Hyundai Genesis coupe and a Toyota Solara. At another site, 14 Mitsubishi Jeep-style vehicles were also destroyed in the government’s show of force.According to the Bureau of Customs, the vehicles were imported into the Philippines by different consignees and seized on separate occasions from 2018 to 2020.
