Classy, elegant, refined, the Rolls Royce is the mark of sophistication and panache.

But when the vehicle in question is the world's fastest Rolls blasting by at 185mph it is a job just to admire the car.

Car enthusiast Tod Weston wanted something that would "stand head and shoulders above the normal, everyday cars on the US highways".

So he decided to transform his 1970 Silver Shadow into a supercharged beast boasting a 1350bhp engine - which impressively pokes through the bonnet in hotrod style.

And to further ruffle the feathers of car purists the Florida real estate attorney has boosted the performance of the British classic by fitting a dual-bottle nitrous oxide system into the trunk - the combustion booster as used by fast and furious street racers.
