    FEATURE - Eisberge in Grönland
On the west coast of Greenland, 250 km north of the Arctic Circle, in the disko bay many icebergs drift into the fjord and gradually melt into the ocean. These icebergs come from Jakobshavn Glacier Glacier (Sermeq Kujalleq in Greenlandic) listed as World Heritage Site since 2004. The glacier is one of the largest iceberg in the northern hemisphere suppliers. . This results in an annual production of 20 billion tonnes of icebergs (which represents the amount of fresh water used annually in France). Colourful houses and hospital in Illulisat in the midnight sun on Greenland. Ilulissat is a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of the Jacobshavn Glacier or Sermeq Kujalleq which is the largest glacier outside Antarctica. The glacier drains 7% of the Greenland ice sheet and produces enough water from calving icebergs in one day to provide New York with water for 1 year. Climate change has meant the glacier has speeded up and is now one of the fastest glaciers in the world at up to 40 metres per day and is also receeding rapidly
