Scottish Squirrels are seemingly nuts for nuts.

Wildlife photographer Ed Brown captured what can only be described a rodent robbery on a visit to Queen Elizabeth Forest Park in Scotland.

Two red squirrels were perched on a nut feeder, but despite there being dozens of nuts available one cheeky critter was intent on stealing its pals treat.

After a lot of tussling - including a couple of defensive "slaps" in the face - the naughty nut-stealer on the right was successful.

Ed explains: "There must be over a hundred nuts in that box behind them but for some reason the guy on the right just had to have the nut his mate had, even if he did take a right hook for it!

"The one on the left gave a couple of defensive slaps, but the nut is dropped and the squirrel on the right is the victor.

"Funnily, the one that dropped the nut just helped himself to another from the feeder."

Auditions for job as 'Parrot in Residence' at Legoland Windsor Resort Hotel, Berkshire, Britain - 12 Mar 2014
Parrots are seen showing off their skills during auditions for a job as 'Parrot in Residence' at the Legoland Windsor Resort Hotel.

Four parrots were interviewed and asked to demonstrate skills such as making pirate noises, riding a scooter, playing with Lego and helping with room keys at reception.

To celebrate the launch of its new Pirate Shores area, the Legoland Windsor Resort called on parrot owners around the UK to nominate their plumed pets for the role.

Up for grabs was a vacant perch at the Resort's unique themed hotel where the winning bird will meet and greet guests during the Easter holidays, when Pirate Shores officially opens.

And it would appear that search is now over after the job was given to 32-year-old blue and gold macaw Charlie, who impressed judges with her impressive reception desk skills.

Charlie's owner Peter Bloom, 55, from Pickering, North Yorkshire, has had the bird for 30 years since he bought her in Scotland where she was hatched.

Legoland spokeswoman Lauren Moss said: "We were very impressed by all our candidates. In fact, they were all so gifted, picking the perfect parrot for the post was incredibly tough. The resort and this hotel is all about colour, fun, surprises and, of course, making children smile, which any one of these birds could do.

"But Charlie just had that extra touch of piratey mischief and we think she will fit right in when she takes up her special Lego parrot perch next month. She'll meet and greet guests here in our reception area and we know they will love her."

    Just Horsing Around At Home
Lucien and Amigo love nothing better than horsing around at the home of owner Sharon Taylor.

The cheeky pair well and truly have their hooves under the table at Sharon's farmhouse in Ayrshire, Scotland.

For the clever horses think nothing of letting themselves in the front door and making themselves at home.

This includes playing with Sharon's cat and dog, standing at the dinner table and helping themselves to a snack.

And it isn't just Sharon, her partner Kenny Lomax and her sons James, 25, Marcus, 20, and Connor, 15, who love the animal antics.

Lucien and Amigo even have their own Facebook page featuring videos of them getting up to mischief.

The family took in Lucien, now 16 months, when his mother died after giving birth and got 15-month-old Amigo to keep him company.

According to Sharon, the duo have yet to master the art of climbing stairs, but she thinks it's just a matter of time before she finds a horse in her bedroom.

Cute Kittens Shop For A New Home
    He aint heavy, he's my step-brother ...

Poor little kitten Joey was only a few weeks old when his mother was killed while crossing a road near Exeter in Devon.

Happily for Joey he was successfully introduced to a new mum after being taken to the Axhayes cat adoption centre.

However, his new mother already has three kittens of her own, which are 6-weeks older than Joey and three times as big.

But, despite the differences in size and age, Joey has been welcomed into the feline family and now has big brother Chesney to lend him a helping paw.

Both Joey and Chesney are currently shopping around for a new home, though Joey will have to wait a few weeks before he is old enough to leave his new mum.
