An online campaign calling for dolls to reflect children with disabilities has seen a new range launched.
In recent weeks, the Toy Like Me Facebook campaign (www.facebook.com/toylikeme) has rallied for greater 'diversity in the toy box', calling for toys that reflect children in more inclusive ways than the market currently offers.
British-based toy developer MakieLab has responded to the call by creating a selection of Makie doll-sized impairment aids and accessories, using 3D printing to deliver them within days of demand.
The community-run Facebook campaign has now posted a rallying cry for other major toy manufacturers to follow the example: "Come on LEGO, Playmobil, Mattell Barbie, 770,000 UK children with disabilities (and millions more beyond) need positive toy box representation now!"

A Japanese village has been replacing humans with life-sized dolls after death.
The doll population in Nagoro, Shikoku Island, now hugely outnumbers people in this isolated mountain village. A 67-year-old woman, Tsukimi Ayano, has spent years weaving more than 350 of these dolls to remember her once-flourishing community.
The lifeless figures now dwarf the 30 or so residents left in the village.

CELEBRITY PAPER DOLLS
Ever wanted to slip Cheryl Cole in your pocket? Or is the thought of dressing Lily Allen appealing?
You now have the chance to do both thanks to a range of paper dolls featuring the famous faces - and bodies - of some our favourite female stars.
The papery presents are the brainchild of designer Mel Elliott, 36, who wanted to give her three children something fun to play with.
The result is a range of stripped-down celebs that you can dress up in garments based on their real outfits.
Mel, of Upton, Northampton, says: "I love to give my children inspiration through drawing, but I soon realised that they get quickly bored.
"I decided to use the old idea of paper dolls, which were a favourite when I was a child.
"But rather than just create the usual dolls I made one in the image of my favourite fashion model Kate Moss.
"I though it would be fun to draw Kate's Topshop fashion range so you could choose how to dress her.
"Seeing how well it came out, Kate was soon followed by Lily Allen and Cheryl Cole, which each feature their own fashion style and most familiar outfits."
The GBP 16 Paper Dolls are available exclusively from thingswelove.co.uk
