Boston: Armenian Genocide 110th Commemoration
April 27, 2025, Boston, Ma, USA: Armenian-Americans and friends commemorate the 110th Anniversary of the 1915 Armenian Genocide committed by Turkey. The event at the Armenian Heritage Park on the Rose Kennedy Greenway was a scene of prayer for the 1.5 million Armenian victims recognized as saints by the Armenian Churches, poetic recitations, memorial songs by vocalists and instrumentalists, and speeches by prominent individuals speaking about the First Genocide of the 20th Century and the continuing policy of Ethnic Cleansing and Cultural Erasure by Turkey and Azerbaijan today. Jerusalem 'land grab': Armenian community fear eviction after contentious deal
A developer has acquired historic land at seemingly bargain rates, amid claims of links to a settler group.
The plot of land, known as the Cows' Garden, has been signed over on a 98-year lease to developers Xana Capital Ltd, headed by Australian Daniel Rothman (also known as Rubinstein) and Palestinian Christian George Warwar, for the construction of a luxury hotel.
Armenians say the deal is illegal, and will destroy the oldest Christian diaspora in Jerusalem, tearing out its spiritual heart and splintering a small community, which today numbers about 2,000 people.
Christian Armenians receive the Armenian New Year in mekashit construction at the Parking lot known as the " Cow's Garden" in the Armenian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem, in which community members shift 24/7 in order to protect the Church's properties.
Armenian activists and community members accuse Jewish settler groups of trying to assert control over the disputed piece of land that has been in the possession of the Armenian Patriarchate for centuries.

EU should impose 'serious consequences' on Azerbaijan if risks to Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians escalate, says senior politician
David McAllister, the chair of the European parliament's foreign affairs committee, has told the Guardian that the EU should impose serious consequences if there are attempts to remove Karabakh Armenians from their homes.
"This weekend's developments in Nagorno-Karabakh underscore the serious concern for the Armenian population there," McAllister said.

'I will never go back': death stalks the exodus from Nagorno-Karabakh
More than 6,000 ethnic Armenian refugees have left region following Azerbaijan victory.
Goris, a resort town near the border with Armenia that is now at the centre of an exodus of refugees that could swell up to 120,000 people. Every hour, hundreds more refugees are coming into the city in a convoy leaving Stepanakert, the Nagorno-Karabakh capital, that snakes for nearly 100km to the mountain serpentine that leads into Armenia.
After housing thousands of refugees, the border towns appear in danger of being overwhelmed, with city hotels and hostels fully booked and refugees crowding around municipal centres with all their possessions tied to the roofs of their cars.

'I came to apologise': Armenian relatives visit soldiers' graves after ceasefire deal
Anger and grief palpable among families who believe soldiers died in lost war for Nagorno-Karabakh.
The Yerablur military cemetery grows with each round of conflict over the territories in Karabakh, which is populated by ethnic Armenians, many of whom refer to it as Artsakh. The graves go back to the first war, from 1988-94, then through decades of border clashes and up to the present.

Joe Biden has become the first US president to issue a statement formally describing the 1915 massacre of Armenians as a genocide by the Ottoman Empire (modern day Turkey) on the day that Armenian communities around the world marked the killing of 1.5 million Armenians. (London, UK) Bishop Hovakim Manukyan (Primate, Diocese of the Armenian Church
of the United Kingdom and Ireland), addressed the congregation after the wreath laying, speaking words of hope for the future of Armenia. Wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial khachkar (a carved Armenian Stone Cross memorial sculpture) took place after a remembrance service and prayer of intercession. 106th Commemoration of the Armenian Genocide of April 24th.
