Butterflies in the glasshouse exhibit, RHS Wisley Gardens, Surrey, UK - 12 Jan 2018
More than 50 species of exotic free-flying butterflies will inhabit the Tropical Zone of the cathedral-like Glasshouse for this eye-catching exhibit. The special guests will showcase their magnificent colours, patterns and form amongst lush-tropical plantings, such as palm trees, bananas, bromeliads and climbers, as well as aquatic plants that thrive in the warm jungle pool. Eye-catching species include vibrant favourites Morpho peleides (Blue Morpho), Kallima inachus (Orange Oakleaf) and Siproeta stelene (Malachite) alongside new species for 2018, Graphium doson (Common Jay) and Papilio paris (Paris Peacock). Visitors can watch in awe as the magnificent butterflies fly around, rest and feed amongst the lush tropical plantings of The Glasshouse. The event is free to RHS Members and a family guest. Non-members can save 10% by booking online in advance.
