They were used for close up shots of Garland in the 1939 film, clicking the heels together as she repeats the mantra “there’s no place like home” for the iconic ending when she leaves the Emerald City to return to her family.
The slippers are on sale at US auction house Heritage Auctions in Dallas Texas with bidding due to end at the end of November.
So far the online auction price has already hit $1,015,625 / €948.160 euros with buyers premium with bidding due to close on November 30.
