A solar powered lunch box is promising to keep food hot or cold – depending on what is required.Sunnyside has a self-heating and cooling feature that ensures meals are at the right temperature just before eating. A heating coil around the metal container helps evenly conduct thermal energy around the food, keeping hot stuff hot.But for a salad for example, three fans located on the bottom of the lunchbox draw out warm air, ensuring your food doesn’t spoil in the heat. An internal thermometer keeps a tab on the temperature and shuts it down automatically if it goes beyond a set point.The whole thing is powered by a solar panel built into the lid.The Sunnyside is said to be leak-proof and has a modular divider to help organise lunch. A tiny LCD screen and buttons on the side help users control how hot or cool they want the contents to be.
