Photographer Says Goodbye To Her Dog With Heart-Warming Photo Shoot
Saying goodbye to a loved one is one of the hardest experiences life throws, and losing a pet is no exception.
Maria Sharp foresaw that the days with her beloved dog, Chubby, were numbered.
The 23-year-old photographer decided to create a portrait session so that she could always remember her.
Chubby sadly passed away last Monday (6 Oct). Maria will now have the memories and heart-warming photos to remember her beloved dog, who became her best friend over the last 16 years.
In order to capture her special moment with Chubby, she enlisted the help of a fellow photographer and dog lover, Suzanne Price.
The touching photos allow her to look back fondly on a bond that was so strong, that words cannot always describe.
Maria got Chubby from the pound when she was seven-years-old.
"Being the impatient seven year old that I was I would wake her up from her puppy naps so we could play.
"I just wanted someone to enjoy life with. I keep catching myself using human pronouns. Chubby isn't just a dog. She's my longest and best friend."
The young photographer also wrote about Chubby's final days in her blog, where she has uploaded photos of her as an adorable puppy, and her moving last photos shot by Suzanne.
Maria, who lives in Avon Lake, in a suburb of Cleveland, explains that she grew up living with just her mother and always longed for a companion.
"Chubby was my sister, my best friend, and companion. We were two peas in a pod. We got Chubby sixteen years ago, when I was 7 years old. She was only 6 weeks old."
"I know how important it is to preserve memories and time with loved ones, and this shouldn't just apply to humans.
"Being a photographer myself, I knew how important it was to capture time spent with love on...

"Being a photographer myself, ...

A Ferronor train climbs the sharp grade going to the Potrerillos (Codelco) plant near Diego de Almagro (Chile). It is on the most spectacular section of the line between Montandon and Potrerillos. The Potrerillos copper smelter is at about 2900 meters above sea level.
Photographer Captures Stunning South American Railways
A French photographer has captured remarkable images of scenic rail routes hidden in the depths of South America.
Jean Marc Frybourg, 56-years-old, main occupation is in the pharmaceutical industry.
However his passion for photography has always led him to spend time travelling the world, capturing his favourite rail ways.
Jean Marc, who lives in Paris, explains: "I started taking photos when I was a boy. I have always taken photographs. I have begun 'learning' photography and using serious cameras in 1972 when I was 11 or 12-years-old."
He says he began to take photographs of trains because he liked model roads.
"I wanted to travel and see the trains. Since then, I have always preferred taking pictures of trains."
Once the photographer felt he had mastered his technique, he started to expand his interests.
Jean-Marc explored a multitude of other styles of photography, including portraits, landscapes, nude shots, wild animals and many others.
"When I was about 20-years-old, I worked as a photography instructor/coach at a mountain hiking safari in the French Alps."
"I am also fascinated by planes, I am thinking about doing some photography of airports and / or airplanes."
He explains that his favourite rail routes to photograph include steam locomotive trains, particularly when they ...

Singer Celebrates Record Store Day Face Painting Album Covers Onto Her Face
A woman has celebrated her favourite albums - by painting them on her face.
Make up artist and singer Natalie Sharp wanted to mark the recent national Record Store Day, so used her skills to reproduce a variety of Vinyl record covers on her own face.
London-based Natalie, 32, works as a make-up artist by day and performs in her band Lone Taxidermist by night.
Based in Hackney, her make-up works sees her involved in body painting, special effects and theatrical and commercial makeup.
The artist, originally from Cumbria, said: "I wanted to do something special for record store day this year because for as long as I can remember I have always been face painting kids as Easter bunnies over the Easter holidays.
"I was having a bit of a rant on Facebook about having to work at the weekend and a friend suggested I paint myself as a piece of Vinyl."
Taken with the idea, Natalie set to work and painted eight memorable albums onto her own face, including artists such as Talking Heads album 'Remain in Light, Joy Division's 'Unknown Pleasures', Primal Scream's 'Screamadelica' and Kraftwerk's Autobahn album.
"Originally I planned to do 10 faces some of which got vetoed for being too difficult. The first face I did, which was Grizzly Bears' Veckatimest album, took me nearly 7 hours and after that I started to seriously reconsider the idea," she says.
Natalie spent three days carefully re-creating the vinyl artworks, working completely free hand with no stencil tracings, and relying only on a hand held mirror.
