    Britain's Prince William has said wife Kate Middleton  is doing "really well"  as she recovers from cancer treatment and had been “amazing.”
    The heir to the throne, 42, spoke ahead of his environmental Earthshot Prize awards evening in Cape Town, South Africa.Princess Kate, also 42, was due to watch the ceremony at home in Windsor.
    Catherine will be "cheering me on", he said, adding: "I know she'll be really keen to see tonight be a success.”
    He also wore a friendship bracelet made for him by his daughter Princess Charlotte with the word “Papa."

    British royal Prince William met with the son of the late Australian naturalist Steve Irwin in South Africa to discuss conservation.
    The pair were together on Signal Hill in Cape Town where the prince is holding his EarthShot Prize conservation prize
    The Prince of Wales ,42, went on a walk with Robert Irwin, 20, on the second day of his visit to South Africa.
    Irwin then filmed a selfie which he posted showing him and William together discussing their favourite animals.
    William is in the country for a four-day visit centred around the EarthShot Prize awards on November 6.
    Irwin tweeted a video of himself with William, in which he asked the prince to name his favourite African animal.
    William replies: “Oh, it's a tough question, it's a really tough question.
    “My children ask me this regularly. I think I'm going to have to say the cheetah. Fantastic animal.’
    Irwin then said his was the colour changing chameleon.
    Irwin told followers: “A wonderful morning for a hike on the stunning Signal Hill, Cape Town, discussing the amazing conservation work happening here! I’m honoured to be part of the @EarthshotPrize family and can’t wait for the awards tomorrow night.”
    His dad Steve, a TV personality and wildlife educator, died inSeptember 2006, when he was pierced in the chest by a barb from a stingray while filming in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.
