An eco-friendly toothbrush where users replace the bristles when they wear out instead of buying a new brush, has been unveiled. The Everloop toothbrush offers a more sustainable option to maintaining oral health.Mexico-based industrial design company NOS came up with a clipping mechanism to replace worn bristles which themselves are made of environmentally friendly bamboo. The mechanism allows the user to open and close the head of the toothbrush, in order to insert a new set of bristles. The body of the brush is made of recycled plastic from old toothbrushes. The bristles are 100% compostable compared to the disposable heads with plastic components that are currently on the market. Each toothbrush comes with eight sets of bristles which based on the three months lifespan of a normal toothbrush makes Everloop’s lifespan a minimum of two years.NOS has also designed the packaging to be made out of thermoformed 100% compostable paper pulp.
OPS: The Everloop toothbrush has a hinged panel in the head which opens like a set of jaws to take a new set of bristles then clamps down tight to hold them in place.
