The picture shows Pinnacles of Light by Richard Fox, 45. It was taken at Mangersta sea stacks, Isle of Lewis, Scotland. He said: "My wife and I visited the Isle of Harris and Lewis on holiday for a week. One evening, after a day out on Lewis, we stopped off at Mangersta sea stacks one evening. It was pretty windy on the cliff tops, making long exposures quite challenging. All of a sudden a few rain showers passed over as the late evening light broke though, providing an amazing set of rainbows!"The 26 finalists for this year's Weather Photographer of the Year have been announced and the public are being invited to vote for their favourite. The Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS), which celebrates its 170th birthday this year, in association with AccuWeather, has put the shortlisted pictures on their website and people can visit photocrowd.com/wpotyvote to vote until September 25.The popular competition, which is now in its fifth year, has attracted entries from around the world.

There is only one way to enter the extraction zone. There aren't any alternative safety exits. A sudden flooding in March 2015 caused the death of eight miners

In Columbia the cocaine business has become less important than in past years. It is the land now, with its enormous riches hidden in the subsoil, and the consequent lucrative management of extraction, inflaming economic interest and violence.

The gold fever has returned, supported by the exchange rate of 1111 dollars per ounce, almost 32 euros per gram.

Photojournalist Erberto Zani spent time with workers toiling in a trecherous illegal mine in Carrizal.

Witnessing nightmare conditions in cramped and poorly ventilated spaces, up to 500m under the earth, he experienced the dread of rapidly rising waters when an old pump at surface level broke down and the tunnels began began to flood.

The steps descend to a depth of 500m. Although a tube pumps in air, the environment is, at times, suffocating. The water that spills out from the walls helps to cool the tunnels down, but has to be constantly pumped out to avoid sudden flooding

My What Big Teeth You Have
With her eyes narrowed and teeth bared in a vicious snarl, this wolf shows she's not one to be messed with.

The feisty animal, a Mexican Grey Wolf, appeared to flash her fangs in frustration after being wound up by her playful siblings.

The incredible sight was captured by Scott Denny during a visit to Brookfield Zoo in Illinois, America.

The 45-year-old, from Brookfield, Wisconsin, snapped the breathtaking shot after spending six hours in temperatures of minus 11 degrees watching the wolf and her siblings.

Mr Denny said: "This girl appears to be very upset with me but it wasn't actually me who provoked her.

"She is usually extremely submissive but reacted when two of her sisters were picking on her.

"They had been chasing her around and when they stopped they started to bare their teeth.

"Then the wolf who was being chased turned to her sister and gave her the look you see in the picture.

"I snapped away and after the dust had settled and I reviewed my images I was very pleased to see I had got a shot of her looking straight at me."

The Mexican Grey Wolf, native to North America, is a sub species of the American Grey Wolf and is considered extremely rare.

An endangered animal, there are currently thought to be only 60 residing in the wild.

Brookfield Zoo is just one of a number of facilities attempting to keep the species in existence - it is currently home to eight of the animals.

Mr Denny added: "Today there are countless species of animals that suffer because of us and large mammals can be some of the species that suffer the most.

"I photograph animals and wildlife as part of a hope that my work will help people remember our responsibility to and for such creatures."

Beginning her career as a dancer in traveling theatrical companies before debuting as a chorus girl on Broadway, Crawford signed a motion picture contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 1925. In the 1930s, Crawford's fame rivaled, and later outlasted, that of MGM colleagues Norma Shearer and Greta Garbo. Crawford often played hard-working young women who find romance and success. These characters and stories were well received by Depression-era audiences and were popular with women. Crawford became one of Hollywood's most prominent movie stars, and one of the highest-paid women in the United States, but her films began losing money, and, by the end of the 1930s, she was labelled "box office poison". But her career gradually improved in the early 1940s, and she made a major comeback in 1945 by starring in Mildred Pierce, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress. She would go on to receive Best Actress nominations for Possessed (1947) and Sudden Fear (1952). She continued to act in film and television throughout the 1950s and 1960s; she achieved box office success with the highly successful horror film Whatever Happened To Baby Jane? (1962), in which she starred alongside Bette Davis, her long-time rival.
