Meet Carlow the firefighting cat. Well, not quite firefighting, you are more likely to find this rescued male moggie asleep on a pile of crew jackets, or asleep on a fire truck, or under one for that matter.
Four-year-old Carlow lives in a firehouse in Yorkville, Manhattan after being found and adopted by firefighters of Engine 22, Ladder 13.
He was an underfed stray kitten found hiding in a tyre at a mechanic?s shop when they found him.
"The idea was that Carlow could help keep mice out of the firehouse. Ever since he's been here, we don't see many mice at all," comments a fire station spokesperson, who says they are 'Carlow's PR'.
Mostly, found dozing, there is some excitement : a disgruntled Carlow is pictured being given a wash along with the comment: "Throwback nightmare to the time they tried to wash me".
