December 3, 2025, Mexico, Cdmx, Mexico: Christmas tree sales begin in December at the Jamaica Market. These trees are mostly brought from the forests of eastern Mexico State. They are Canadian pines, legally harvested for sale on the street. Sometimes they are decorated or painted with different materials; however, vendors are applying non-toxic chemicals to make them last longer and give them a snowy appearance. To apply this chemical mixture, they cover their bodies, hands, and faces to avoid inhaling it, and they work in makeshift rooms so as not to bother buyers and other vendors. Troubled singer Amy Winehouse's husband's plea hearing over assault and conspiracy charges has been adjourned. Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, is charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice and inflicting grievous bodily harm. The singer blew kisses at her husband at Snaresbrook Crown Court today (18 Jan) and shouted: "I love you handsome, gorgeous one." Mr Fielder-Civil, from Camden, north London, is due to enter pleas at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 29 February. He remains in custody. Ms Winehouse arrived in court 45 minutes after the hearing began and sat next to Mr Fielder-Civil's mother, Georgette. When her husband was being led from the court she whispered "I love you" to him. She refused to speak to the reporters in the public gallery.

The 'decoration', which can cost up to GBP 300, can be applied to any area of the body where the skin is loose enough to pinch in order to thread a needle through.
Popular areas include the back, ribs and, in some cases, even the throat.
Anyone who wants the unusual decoration must endure an hour of pain to achieve the effect.
However, it's only temporary as after a few weeks of wear the hooks simply grow out, leaving scars in their place.
The craze is the latest in the 'body modification' phenomenon, which has seen people going to extraordinary levels in a bid to stand out from the crowd.
Today it's possible to be branded, scarred and even have silicone implanted under the skin to create bumps and 'horns'.
Kooky popstar Lady Gaga is just one celebrity who's jumped on the bandwagon. She sported bizarre flesh-coloured 'horns' on her face during a television interview in February this year.
According to piercing experts, the 'corset' modification is growing in popularity as more and more brave the pain.
But consultant plastic surgeon Kevin Hancock, a council member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons who works at Spire Murrayfield Hospital, Merseyside, warned of the problems it can cause.
He added: "I can't believe it's something that people would be attracted to.
"Any piercing, superficial or otherwise, produces a scar and different people scar in different ways.
"For some, the scarring may be slight but for others it can produce problems where the tissue overgrows and you end up with a red lump which is permanent.

The oldest established all male revue ’This Was The Army’, running for nine years, ever since WWII. The idea was started by comedian Jack Lewis while in the Army where entertainment was improvised, when men made fun of, and made up for the shortage of women by dressing up and pretending to behave as women. Back in civvy street he set out with his wife Hazel to turn the joke into a commercial proposition. Jack provided the raw knockout Army sketches and Hazel (a former dancer) trained the chorus ‘girls’. The original cast has since broken up, apart from Sonnie Dawkes, the 30 year old ‘female’ lead. The popularity of the show has not diminished and audiences are treated to an evening’s entertainment where, as the poster says, ‘Every Lady is a Perfect Gentleman’.
