The Victoria and Albert Museum Present the Opening of Theatre and Performance Galleries in London, Britain - 16 Mar 2009
The new Theatre and Performance Galleries at the Victoria and Albert Museum got their grand opening last night. The likes of Kevin Spacey, Sam West and Stephen Jones were on hand to watch Sir Peter Hall officially open the new space. The opening is the result of two years' work following the V&A's controversial decision to close the original Covent Garden theatre museum in 2007. The new galleries tell the story of performance thematically and contain everything from a wrecked guitar belonging to Pete Townshend to a replica of Kylie Minogue's dressing room on her Homecoming tour in 2007.
