Two guitars customised and played by the late rock idol Eddie Van Halen are being sold at an auction announced just days after his death.The two , customised instruments are expected to fetch $40,000 USD to $80,000 USD each / €34.000 euros to €68.000 eurosThey were already being lined up for the sale when before Van Halen’s death from lung cancer on October 6 death, aged 65.Eddie was co-founder of US hard rock band of Van Halen who hits included Jump and Dance the Night Away.One of the guitars up for grabs is 2004 EVH Charvel Art Series electric guitar in a unique white and black abstract design.The front of the body is signed Eddie Van Halen, initialed VH 04 and inscribed in Van Halen’s hand San Antonio Texas / 9-28-04. This guitar also features an evidence of a cigarette burn to the front. Accompanying the guitar are multiple photos of Van Halen hand-applying taped stripes to the guitar and photos of him playing the guitar on stage in San Antonio .The matching hardshell case comes with a partly-smoked cigarette in a plastic vial. The EVH Charvel Art guitars were a limited-edition series of guitars inspired by Eddie Van Halen’s most famous guitars where each one was given a unique body, designed by Eddie himself. The second instrument is a customised electric guitar serial number F 0024 built by Van Halen with his guitar tech Matt Bruck at the guitarist's home studio.It has a red body with white and black stripes designed and applied by Van Halen.In 1991. The instruments are being sold by Los Angeles showbiz specialist sale room Julien’s Auctions in its annual Icons and Idols sale.
