At 9am, the builder, 20, surnamed Xu, was feeding the mixer with a bag of concrete powder, and suddenly the plastic bag got entangled by the fast rotating blender. In a snap, Xu was pulled into the mixer himself. Luckily, in hearing Xu's screams, a co-worker standing nearby switched the machine off immediately. The blaze destroyed several homes in the area as well as knocking out the 220-kilovolt Goleta transmission line which are the primary source for Santa Barbara County.
