Marble the cat
Musashi cat band, Japan - 2008
MUSICAL MOGGY MAGIC
Some kitty cat crooners are taking Japan by storm with their feline versions of popular songs.
Mushashi's is a five cat band that's currently making it big on YouTube with its 'music' videos of the five musical moggys yowling their favourite tunes into microphones.
Two classic tunes to get a meow makeover include "Hotaru no Hikari" (Auld Lang Syne) and Jungle Bells, which was viewed more than 1,200,000 on YouTube and was nominated as the best video of 2007.
The leader of the band is four-year-old Norwegian Forest Cat Musashi, who is joined by Leo, Luca, Seri and Marble.
They are now so popular that they are even signed up to their very own management company, and their purr-fect renditions are available to download onto PCs or phones.
And the smart cats are obviously mean negotiators as their contract states that each cat will be given one skipjack tuna per song they produce.

Libya Desert Journey
The Arch of Septimus Severus are seen at the remains of Leptis Magna near Tripoli, Libya on Sunday, March 23, 2008.
Libya is the country to visit in order to see the Sahara Desert in all its splendor. It sounds like an oxymoron, but ever since Colonel Qaddafi surprised the world announcing that Libya would give up its weapons programs, it has become one of the most politically stable countries in the region and thus an ideal place to travel to in order to see the wonders of the desert. And the Libyan Desert has it all. Marvel at the forbidding volcanic rock walls of the Jebel Acacus, climb dunes for as far as the eye can see, float in the salt water of a desert oasis and behold the ancient wonders of Leptis Magna, once the largest Roman city in Africa. STORY COPY: What’s the best picture of Earth ever?
That’s the question NASA’s Earth Observatory is asking in a visually arresting contest they have called Tournament Earth 2020.
Since 1999, Earth Observatory has published over 16,000 images, so to celebrate their 20th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, they want the public to pick their all-time best image.
Readers will narrow the field from 32 nominees down to one champion in a five-round knockout-style tournament. Pictures have been chosen under the categories: Past Winners, Home Planet, Land & Ice, and Sea & Sky. These will go head-to-head each week from March 23 to April 28, 2020, when a tournament winner will be announced.
NASA Earth Observatory is an online publishing outlet for NASA which was created in 1999. It is the principal source of satellite imagery and other scientific information pertaining to the climate and the environment which are being provided by NASA for consumption by the general public.
This view of Earth from space is a fusion of science and art, drawing on data from multiple satellite missions and the talents of NASA scientists and graphic artists.

A lifesize marble sculpture of the brain of Einstein by Michael Blow, Britain - 2007
Mandatory Credit: Photo by David White / Rex Features ( 661547b )
A magnificent lifesize marble sculpture of the brain of Einstein has just been completed by Bristol Stonemason and artist Michael Blow. Mike has carved the brain using original photographs as templates. The marble which the brain is carved from is from Michelangelo's statuary, the same quarry and the same stone as Michelangelo used to carve David. Mike's sculpture is one of the last pieces of stone to be taken from the quarry, which is now shut.
The sculpture is to be part of Mike's application to join the British society of sculptors.
