The world's smallest caravan towed by a mobility scooter. London,Britain - 18 Apr 2011

Small enough to be used legally on the pavement or inside a shop, the GBP 5,500 QTvan is so named because it caters to three peculiarly British obsessions: caravans; queuing and tea. The tiny caravan is ideally suited to queuing overnight for the sales or tickets for Wimbledon fortnight, and boasts tea-making facilities to make any long wait bearable.According to the Environmental Transport Association (ETA), the QTvan is ideal for the estimated 220,000 people who use a mobility scooter without breakdown cover, and who face the prospect of a very long wait should they suffer a mechanical fault or their battery runs flat. Spokesman for the ETA, Yannick Read, said: (FOTO:DUKAS/REX)

Holidays of the Future
Our annual break in the sun is being redefined as holidaymakers, tour operators, hotels and resorts all adapt and innovate to save the world's ever dwindling resources.
According to a major report sustainable holidays must represent the future of mass tourism.
Carried out for Thomson Holidays by The Future Laboratory, the Sustainable Holiday Futures report reveals that change is needed to prevent a number of bleak scenarios from becoming reality by 2030.
Looking ahead to 2030, the report predicts a number of exciting new trends and developments. These include:
- A new generation of airships featuring stunning, cathedral-like internal spaces housing bars, restaurants and even apartments, recreating the golden age of travel and creating a new style of travel called 'slowtopianism'.
- Aqua-villages: zero-impact floating resorts which harvest energy from the sun, wind and rain, locally source all materials and food and which can be moved leaving no trace of its presence.
- Imagined villages built on former urban or brownfield sites, created as artificial or imagined worlds to provide respite from the real world
- The transformation of the world's largest airports into aerovilles. Destinations in their own right featuring state-of-the-art cinemas, hotels and restaurants.
- Second-generation biofuels developed from algae which will be mixed with jet fuel to power aircraft with significantly reduced carbon emissions.
As part of the report, Thomson has also unveiled its hotel room of the future, which includes a wide range of energy saving features which they predict will be commonplace in the coming years.
The room features a water-efficient bathroom where water from the wash basin and shower is used to flush the toilet, as well as a shower with eco-flow controls and a Wa...

Pensioner, 96, takes giant leap into Guinness Book of World Records.
Situated along the picturesque and tranquil Garden Route, along South Africa's eastern coast is the highest single span arch bridge in the world. Bloukrans bridge, (meaning blue cliffs), is the highest and largest bridge in Africa, the 3rd highest in the world.
With breathtaking views to both mountain and seaside, you get the feeling of being suspended in air as you cross the vast expanse, quite happy to be taking in the scenery from the safety of your car.
But for some people that is not enough. On the underbelly of this bridge sit a few people, qualified and guaranteed to instill fear in the bravest of men. Their motto being "Face Fear", they are the seasoned team from "Face Adrenalin" bungy operators, who have seen grown men cry like babies and scream with joy and relief at surviving the world's biggest bungy.
