CHINA-QINGDAO-BEACH-BLACK SAND (CN)
(110906) -- QINGDAO, Sept. 6, 2011 (Xinhua) -- Black sand is seen on the beach of Qingdao, a coastal city in east China's Shandong Province, Sept. 6, 2011. Test results showed that no harmful substances but elements like carbon and sulphur were contained in the black sand. Experts have denied the connection between the black sand and oil contamination, saying that the black materials might be coal ash sunken under the sea and now were brought to the beach by tide.
