An intact cleit on Hirta the largest island in the St Kilda archipelago which contains the westernmost islands of the Outer Hebrides, of Scotland and the United Kingdom. Cleits are dome shaped structures with a turf cap from prehistoric times used for storage of meat, peat, nets and eggs.
