FEATURE - Gehör ist immer noch perfekt: Ex-Strassenkatze Nora aus Wisconsin lebt nach Operation ohne Ohren
    EXCLUSIVE: *NO RTL USAGES*
Story from Jam Press (No Eared Cat)
Pictured: Nora the cat with no ears that has generated a large following on social media.
Former street cat with NO EARS becomes Instagram star – and her hearing is still perfect
An earless cat has become a social media star – despite the lazy moggy sleeping for up to 20 hours a day.
Nora, from Wisconsin, US, had to have the outer flaps of her ears chopped off after they became infected through years of living on the street.
The domestic shorthair grey tabby mix was eventually rescued and taken to a local vet, who discovered she had chronic ear infections and hematomas.
Vets found the only way to treat her ear canals was to chop off the badly infected flaps – leaving her with an unusual appearance.
Despite initial fears she wouldn't be adopted, Nora was snapped up within a month by veterinary nurse, H Due, and their wife in January 2020.
Although looking like she has no ears, the moggy is still able to hear thanks to vets keeping her ear drums and canals.
So like every other cat in the world, she'll coming running when a packet of Dreamies are shaken.
And true to feline form, Nora's favourite hobby is napping, which she does with the couple's three-legged dog Matilda.
In fact, she loves so much, she sleeps 20 hours a day.
"Nora is an absolute sweetheart. She has no fear whatsoever and greets any person or pet head-on," H told NeedToKnow.online
"She tolerates the other cats, but they don't play with her, and she actively snuggles our two dogs.
"She doesn't appear to be any more sensitive to sound than my other cats.
"She has several pairs of knitted fake ears but we've never had to use earmuffs.
"She's just very lazy, like any other cat."
Nora has earned an army of fans on Instagram (@nora.no.ears) boasting 28,500 followers.
On one picture of the sweet pet, an Instagram user said: "She's so lovely little darling. She doesn't needs ears to look so lovely and *** Local Cap

Unzertrennlich: Pensionierter Mathe Lehrer macht mit seiner Katze Stand Up Paddling / 2018 *** Nigel Edmunds, 72, and his one-year-old singapura Noodle. See Masons story MNPADDLE; A retired Maths teacher has developed a passion for stand-up paddle boarding - with his CAT. Nigel Edmunds, 72, and his one-year-old singapura Noodle go out on the water every week, sometimes travelling up to three miles. Keen sailor Nigel got into the fast-growing water sport - which involves standing on a surfboard-like object and paddling along the water - four years ago after seeing it at a boat show. But after taking his pet with him four months ago to meet wife Jackie, the pair became inseparable. The grandfather-of-four said: "My wife was walking near the river with a group of friends so I said, 'I'll come over with my paddle board and bring Noodle with me'. "Jackie said I was crackers but when she saw her on the board she realised how relaxed she was on it."
