    WITH THE GUARDS IN TRAINING

This series of pictures, taken at a camp in Southern England, shows the intense training through which these modern soldiers pass before being absorbed into the Service battalions. For four months the young Guardsmen are hard at work, swimming in full kit, scaling walls, leaping ditches, and generally learning the intricacies of modern warfare.

Photo Shows: Swimming into action, Scots Guardsmen swimming in full kit, with parts of their equipment forming floats for a Bren gun and an anti tank gun, during training.
