A pair of smart earrings they are body and health trackers has been unveiled.
The Lumia 2 , developed over six years, are worn like normal jewellery and come in a range of styles.
The earrings are said to be able to track blood flow as well as standard metrics such as heart rate, sleep tracking and body temperature.
An infrared light sensor in the back of the left earring measures arterial blood flow in a shallow ear artery – the closest one to the brain.
The Lumia 2 detect any fall in blood flow to the head, said to be a crucial factor affecting energy and focus throughout the day.
Blood flow changes constantly, and is dependent on factors such as food and liquid intake, sleep and exercise which Lumia 2 is said to be able to track.
The US developer, Boston-based Lumia Health, says the ear provides clinical-grade data to help unlock the healthcare wearables have been promising.
The earrings are said to benefit everyone by allowing them to understand their blood flow patterns.
The wearables are made from non-allergenic materials such as platinum and titanium and come in a variety of styles including hoops, cuffs, or studs.
They will be available in gold, silver, and clear finishes.
