Illuminate Bradford lights up the city centre - Bradford Council will again stage its hugely popular nocturnal mini-festival, Illuminate Bradford in it multi-award winning City Park on 30 November to 2 December. World-leading 3D projection specialists, the Colour Project, who stunned crowds with their dazzling digital animation in 2017, will return with a brand new creation beamed onto the façade of Bradford?s historic City Hall. The Imaginarium will take audiences on a magical journey under the sea, into space and through a mysterious fantasy land. The gigantic animated light show will end with a spectacular finale of light and sound. People will enjoy a wildly absurd live DJ show combining music, performance, dance, song, comparing, comedy and tragedy in DJ Ukebox. From satire to slapstick, this celebration of pop will have audiences dancing and laughing in equal measure. Nothing is off limits in this mad medley of modern music. The Colour Project will also stage eyeSay, a projection piece where collective words and phrases describing Bradford will be shone onto the side of Impressions Gallery. People will be able to try their hand at redesigning the Nat West building in vivid colours in an interactive artwork, eyeSee. Mobile cinemas on tricycles, LightBikes, will illuminate Bradford?s streets, buildings and pavements with colourful and interactive animations. During the festival, people can enjoy funfair rides, browse unique products at a craft market, and grab a delicious bite to eat at the food stalls. Illuminate Bradford - a magical nocturnal mini-festival runs from 30 Friday November to 2 Sunday December throughout City Park and Bradford City Centre. The activities run Friday 5pm to 8.45pm, Saturday 4pm to 8.45pm and Sunday 4pm to 8.15pm. Admission is free.

A photographer has captured a series of striking images of Cuba's Wi-Fi 'Revolution'.

Photographer Valerio Berdini captured a series of images that show Cuban faces illuminated by mobile phone light, as many browse the internet on their mobile phone devices for the first time.

In June 2015 Cuban citizens gained access to Wi-Fi for the first time when Cuban government-owned telecommunication company, ETECSA, began installing 35 Wi-Fi hotspots in the parks of the main cities.

Until that date the web in Cuba was an affair limited to the guests of few luxury hotels and some official state offices.

Dedicated to the tallest mammal on the planet, it's hoped the day will throw a spotlight on the efforts of giraffe conservation which are often overlooked.

9-Year-Old 'Mini Monet' Earns Enough To Buy A House
A nine-year-old painter dubbed the 'Mini Monet' has earned enough from his artwork to buy a new family home.

And today (11 October) Kieron Williamson earned a further GBP 106,260 after his latest 12 paintings sold out in just ten minutes.

To date, the child artist has successfully sold 89 paintings in five exhibitions - with all of his shows being sell outs.

Before his latest sale two fans - Jo and Matt Windsor - even camped outside the gallery in Holt, Norfolk, where his work was to be shown.

And their dedication was rewarded when they got first pick of the prodigy's work - walking away with two paintings.

The most expensive of the works on offer was a GBP 15,595 painting of Suleymaniye Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey, which Kieron painted based on photos from the internet.

Normally, most of Kieron's work features local Norfolk landscapes and coastal scenes.

His latest collection also included paintings featuring a misty morning at Wells West Quay and frosty reeds adorning the ground at Thornage.

The youngster first started painting when he was just five years old and he was inspired by boats in dock during a family holiday to Cornwall.

His work first came on the market in 2009 when 19 of his paintings were sold for GBP 14,000 in a sealed-bid auction.

In August last year, 33 of his creations sold for GBP 150,000 in less than 30 minutes.

This allowed him to buy a family home in Ludham, Norfolk, where he now lives with his parents and younger sister.

Economic downturn causes gold sales slump, Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Jun 2009
Gold jewellery sales in Dubai have slumped 30 percent in the last month alone due to the affects of the economic downturn. According to reports the high price of the metal and the shrinking number of tourists visiting the UAE has all contributed to the fall. Last year more than 8 million tourists visited Dubai, dubbed the City of Gold, with many stopping off at the city's famous gold souk in order to pick up tax-free jewellery. However, the credit crunch means that many people are choosing not to venture too far a field for a holiday - and Dubai's gold sellers are suffering. The higher price of gold has also deterred buyers with some prices now almost 20 percent higher than last year.
