Police call for 'realistic' toy gun being sold with children's comic to be withdrawn, Britain - 21 Dec 2011
Police are calling for a child's magazine to be withdrawn because it features a toy gun which is 'realistic enough to cause a full-scale firearms alert'. Firearms officers fear the plastic gun given away free with 'Cool Kidz!' could be used to carry out 'armed' robberies. And they warn that a teenager wielding the gun in public could be arrested and even run the risk of being shot by armed response officers. The magazine, which costs GBP 2.50, is aimed at primary school children and is stocked by newsagents across the country.
