Renaissance style artist turns Italian masterpieces into 'masterpizzas', UK - 16 Nov 2016
Renaissance style artist China Jordan has turned great Italian masterpieces into 'masterpizzas', recreating some of the world?s most famous paintings including the Mona Lisa eating a pizza and the cherubs pondering a slice in the Sistine Madonna. The pizz-art is being exhibited at selected Domino's stores across the country as part of the launch of its new authentic Italiano range. It took the artist 16 weeks to recreate the paintings and follows research that Brits are craving more extravagant pizza toppings including prosciutto, goats cheese and anchovies.

Waste not want not. Whet your appetite with this fly-tipping transformed into food.

Lor-K is a French artist who turns mattresses left on Parisian streets into artworks of pizza, sushi, waffles and more. After slicing and spray-painting the discarded items, the sculptor reassembles them to jazz up the grey pavements.

Just as the original owners leave behind their objects, so too does Lor-K desert her art: "I abandon every sculpture I make, I only keep the memories."

Edible rice krispy food art, America - Apr 2016

Talented student Jessica Siskin, or 'Mister Krisp', decided to create quirky food-art using the popular rice krispy cereal.

Her designs range from emojis, to fake avocado on toast, to an edible version of Kim Kardashian's racy photo shoot.

Jessica started making the krispy creations several years ago ahead of a friend's birthday. She uses food colouring to bring the designs to life and her designs can take up to two hours to complete.

Speaking on her website, Jessica says: "Three years ago I didn't know how to cook anything besides oversized heart-shaped Rice Krispies Treats (but I had other redeeming qualities). When I was invited to a potluck birthday dinner, I was stumped. The birthday girl was a surfer, so a friend suggested I make a Rice Krispies Treats surfboard.

Chivito: Chivito is the name of a sandwich-style national dish in Uruguay, and consists primarily of a thin slice of filet mignon, with mozzarella, tomatoes, mayonnaise, black or green olives, and commonly also bacon, fried or hard-boiled eggs and ham

    This WILL make you hungry!

A man loves his lunch so much he scans every sandwich he eats.

Jon Chonko's Scanwiches ongoing photo project sees him placing his lunchtime snacks directly onto a scanner.

By cutting the sandwich in half, the picturial results are mouth-watering glimpses of his deli delights.

The Brooklyn-based designer says his project is "for education and delight".

Jon says he has scanned more than 200 sandwiches, published a book and shown his work at several New York galleries.

Some of his latest range from a selection of tea sandwiches with the crusts cut off, to a simple Bologna.

There is also tasty-looking a Maine Lobster Roll, various burgers and a Uruguayan Chivito.

Many of us idly doodle on notepads to pass the time, but talented Vince Low has made scribbling an artform in its own right.

The artist and illustrator from Kuala Lumpur creates artistic order from the chaos of pen lines to produce stunning portraits of famous faces.

His 'Faces' project began when, as head illustrator at advertising agency Grey, he created three portraits of famous dyslexics to create awareness for the disorder.

The advertising campaign for the Dyslexia Association of Malaysia struck home with Vince as he is dyslexic himself.

He decided to use the scribbled style for a personal project featuring other famous faces.

Slumbering In My Pi-ZZZ-a Sleeping Bag
An artist has created a warm and cosy sleeping bag - that looks like a slice of pizza.

The triangular-shaped bedding comes with a choice of five toppings that can be detached and used as cushions.

They include any combination of broccoli, olives, mushrooms, pepperoni and sausage.

The inside of the 6ft-long and 4ft-wide bag is lined with satin and stuffed with cotton to create "the most comfortable sleeping bag ever."

The top of each slice is died red to make it look like a tomato-covered base and the brown crust even acts as the pillow.

Designer Brook Abboud, who eats pizza once a week and whose favourite is plain cheese, hand makes every order.

The 23-year-old said: "Every time I crawl into one of my bags, I have a very hard time getting out because they are so soft and warm.

"I chose pizza because I think it is a common comfort food - it certainly is for me.

"I want people to feel the comfort of the food when they get into the sleeping bag.

"Since it is a hand-made art piece that also serves as a functional object it doesn't have any kind of official tog rating.

"But it is certainly the most comfortable sleeping bag I've ever been in."

Brook added: "The first version of the pizza sleeping bag was entirely hand-dyed cotton.

"It took about a month to construct, as I worked through all the kinks.

"I feel like I need to dye all my fabrics by hand to really understand and achieve the colours that I want.

"But now I am making many more pizza sleeping bags I am using a combination of found cottons and cottons that I dye myself.

"Not dying every piece of fabric myself bothers me a little bit but saves a boat load of time and allows me to make enough bags to meet the current demand.
