Germany continues its investigation into former Nazi death camp guards from Auschwitz to those who served in other concentration camps. Schrimm's office has identified about 20 former guards from the Majdanek death camp who are still alive and may be guilty of accessory to murder. The special Nazi war crimes office is preparing to recommend that state prosecutors pursue charges against the suspects in the next two weeks. Schrimm's office has no power to file charges itself.
