    SHE 'S AN ESCALATOR GREASER

Latest recruits to London Transport 's army of women war workers are greasers for escalators. The task is an extremely dirty one, and the women are, therefore, provided with overalls and head coverings. They work in gangs of four under a male supervisor.

Photo shows: One of the women workers busy greasing an escalator at Swiss Cottage station. The work is done only at night when the machinery is at rest.
