    Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment (HCMR) as they prepare their horses and kit ready for parade. The HCMR will be providing escorts for the Royal Procession at Trooping the Colour on the Queen’s Birthday Parade for the Platinum Jubilee and will also provide an 8 Trooper retinue to HM The Queen (The recent winners of the Richmond Cup).

    Troopers preparing their kit ready for the Major General’s Review

    Soldiers mucking out the horses, tacking up the horses, returning from their morning watering orders, (where they exercise the horses around the streets of London) as well as cleaning their kit ready for the Major General’s Review the following day. They will be preparing their ‘upstairs and downstairs’ kit; ‘upstairs’ kit being the soldier’s uniform, breastplates, helmets, boots etc and ‘downstairs’ kit being the regalia worn by the horses.
